Borgen Series 2

Anyone else looking forward to this starting tomorrow night (BBC4, 9pm)?

I loved the first series and have been using serious willpower to stop myself buying the second series or looking up spoilers online (Denmark and some other countries are a year ahead of us). Have to confess that I have read some articles which give info of some of the plot lines but I won't put on any spoilers other than to say that it sounds good but a bit hard going at times, a lot darker than series 1.

Seriously don't think I've ever been this excited about a television programme, I actually wish the BBC would just show one episode a week rather than two back to back to draw it out for longer!

Oooh yes, looking forward to it too. Have just put on to record.

I was just about to start a thread about it, but thought I'd better check that there wasn't one first!

I can't wait. Do you know how many episodes it is (so I can plan my social life around it!)

Yes, 10 episodes and they're showing them as double bills so it will run for 5 weeks. Also recording it here but will be trying to watch them when they're on (and save them for a re-run as I did with S1).

Was going to say that I definitely won't be going out on Saturday nights for the next 5 weeks but two weeks tomorrow is my birthday...

...well it's my birthday, I'll do what I flaming well like Grin

Thanks Munchkins my Birthday isn't until the 19th but I'm so excited about Borgen tonight that it may as well be!

Have to keep on reminding myself its not real, Brigette, Katrine, Kasper, they're not real people...

I've read that there's going to be a screening in Edinburgh (where I am) of the last episode in February - with special guests. Imagine if Brigette was actually there!

Very keen to watch as love the old scandi-dramas but didn't catch the first series. What do you think- go straight for second series or wait and get box set to watch both series?

Hi - another one waiting with anticipation as well - loved the first series, definitely start with that lendi as it will give you lots of background and insight into all the characters, it was brilliantly acted and brilliantly written.

I read a piece today about how Brigitte's husband is now 'universally hated' ( tv critic). Firstly I thought he was utterly gorgeous, but thats beside the point, I thought it showed the realistic stresses and strains such a marriage would be under and how temptation would never be far away. After all, it happened to John Major! Only an hour to go..... waiting patiently:)

Another looking forward to series 2 - not least for some Scandi Interiors shopping inspiration these lights for starters?

Bellebelle · 05/01/2013 20:42

guineapiglet I've read that too, I think it's a bit much that he's hated but I felt so disappointed in him. You're completely right that it was a realistic portrayal but I think he gave up to easily - what do you expect if you're married to the PM?

20 minutes and counting...

That was brilliant. Although, I was disconcerted when the PM from Killing III turned up. Great ending, and Philip and Kasper were as gorgeous as they were in series 1.

Loved it! Birgitte is so well written and played. I think it's all well written in fact. You also get to see all your The Killing faves too!

Shallow point: I don't like Katrine's new hair do.

Great episodes, loved every minute of it. Poor Bent, I wish Birgette had said sorry a lot earlier though.

Can't see Lotte lasting long, obviously a poor substitute for Katrine as far as Kasper is concerned and I thought she was a bit annoying.

Anyone feel that Kasper is actually running the country? He seems to be the main influencer on the PM and the press? Grin

On record for a more alert time of day. I'm addicted to all things Norse. Thinking about learning the lingo just so I can watch without subtitles

Hi all - well thoroughly enjoyed last nights episodes, particularly the one set around Afghanistan, very well crafted, and raised issues most of us have forgotten to consider about the war and our part in it....... I found myself crying when the father was talking to Brigitte about his son, really well acted, and in the second episode at Bent's bedside- so both episodes moving in their own way - I love the way it moves from the universal to the personal all the time - the son asking to go and stay with his father - etc - utterly brilliant. I still wonder why we can't have drama like that.

Copenhagen looked gorgeous in the sunshine. We went a couple of years ago and loved it, will definitely return, need to learn some more Danish!
