Digital channel CITV steps back in time during the weekend of the 5th and 6th January 2013. From 9:25am through to 6pm on both days, the channel will showcase some of the best children's programming from the heyday of CITV. Of note is the absence of anything since 2006 - the year the CITV channel was born, but also the year when ITV largely abandoned children's programming.

Here's what you can expect:

Saturday 5th January 2013

9:25am Mike and Angelo (1990)
9:50 Super Gran (second episode, 1985)
10:15 Wizadora (last episode, 1998)

Art attack? Is it with Neil Buchanan?!

I've been seeing Art Attack on Disney Channel and its shit. I refuse to let my toddler see the mess and sham it has become.

Ooh, I'm going to watch the Press Gang episodes with DD - huge Steven Moffat fan but never seen PG - if we both enjoy it I'll shell out for the DVDs.

We have the complete Dangermouse box set - best 25 quid I ever spent, every bit as good as I remember and the DCs love it.

Eeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I really hope they put all of that on catch up! We don't have a TV license, so that's the only way we can watch it and I so want to see Knightmare again

What about Bodger and Badger, Funny Bones, The Demon Headmaster and ChuckleVision? :(

Unless that wasn't actually CITV of course...

DP has just informed me they were BBC... Blush

Demon Headmaster was BBC wasn't it? Our headmaster at primary school looked identical to the demon headmaster, we were all pretty scared of him

SchroSawMummyRidingSantaClaus · 17/12/2012 01:41

Yep turned out to be BBC. :(

That would have been bloody scary, I think I probably would have refused to go to school!

If we could have got away wit it we would have! Grin

Do you remember a show from around the same time, probably also BBC, something about a magical 50p coin that granted wishes?

OMG!!! Button Moon! Fraggle Rock! Looooove it!

If the BBC did this I'd love to watch the whole series of The Animals of Farthing Wood.
