As far as I remember the myth of Arthur, he will die and end up at Avalon; I heard somewhere they will wind up the story "along traditional lines."

The bloke who turned up without a face at the end was scary for my dd (wish she hadn't seen it). Apparently it means that Morgana has finally declared battle, so at least they are getting on with it now! I think the dragon will help out then it will be the end of him.

Mordred looks like he will be getting up to mischief next week if the trailer is anything to go by, and Finna last night said not to trust the druid boy.

3 more episodes to go!

I'm still watching and I agree. I thought I was the only other Merlin MNer left so yay for your post!

I think I will have to buy DS1 the box-set of the whole series when it's available.

Can't wait to see how they will wrap up the series, it's all getting rather exciting now.

It is exciting, but I will miss it. All good things and all that though. I wonder what the cast will do afterwards, particularly Colin Morgan. Hope they still get work. I bet they will miss each other as the actors have said many times they are like a family.

But if Arthur dies then Merlin will have failed to realise his destiny in bringing about Albion. Which makes the whole thing a waste of time!

Am so annoyed that it's got this late and Arthur still doesn't know about Merlin. There won't be enough time to properly explore that revelation now.

I'm watching avidly as well, waiting to see if they have the balls to follow the story of the legend.

Well they've pretty much ignored the legend so far - Lancelot and Guinevere etc. I'm also annoyed that the magic hasn't been revealed so far - and that Arthur is pretty dim.

Who cares? He's pretty to look at Wink.

Actually, am fed up of Morgana never getting matched. If Merlin is such a great wizard, why do we see so little evidence of it?

I agree noble, I really wanted to see that revelation explored and it does seem rather futile for Arthur to die, Merlin will have failed then

Which are the best books to read the legends of Arthur. I have never read them

I would like to read any books on Arthur too.

Mary Stewart did a great trilogy (possibly out of print now) from the point of view of Merline - The Crystal Cave, The Hollow Hills and The Last Enchantment.

Also from the point of view of Morgan Le Fey - (Morgana) - The Mists of Avalon - Marion Zimmer Bradley, a book I read years ago but remember really loving.

Definitely read the Mary Stewart books. They are brilliant. And I agree they've left it all too late to reveal Merlin as a great wizard. We keep getting told he is one, but haven't really seen very much of it. And yes, when exactly is the great kingdom of Camelot supposed to be established, if not already? They have spent far to long mucking about with secret magic in the forest episodes and not moving on with the plot.

I'm sad that its ending! I've loved it, true to the original stories or not!

I've had rude dreams about Colin Morgan, and is lovely real Irish accent! I'm a sucker for an accent!

I hope it doesn't disappoint.

I read a lovely trilogy by Rosalind Miles from Gueneveres point of view. I remember it taking a few chapters to get into the language and style but they were very good.

Can't wait to see how they are going to end the series!
