Awful, awful, awful! After the first 20 minutes I was feeling almost suicidal and so asked DH if he was enjoying it and he said NO, so we watched something else.

It was the grimmest, nastiest thing I think I have ever seen, yet more violence and abuse of naive and helpless young women, and I just can't imagine who would regard that as being even remotely entertaining, especially when there is so much hideous violence going on in various places in the world at the moment.

... and breathe...

I've been watching it, not really sure why. It is grim. But there are pockets of excellent acting, generally by Peter Mullan, who is a very underrated actor. I find the violence and the Albanian gang stuff boring. But the bits with Peter Mullan where he is desperately confused and battling to make sense of his thoughts are brilliant.

I think the basic premise is very good (a violent, dominating man lose his mind) and possibly would have been better as a film rather than a series.
