I was looking forward to Kirsty's new series - but the first episode was a bit of a letdown.
As far as I could see, the main problem with the couple's home was lots of clutter in the lounge, and none of what Kirsty did actually addressed this. The biggest change was the decluttering that they did - and I did find myself wondering what had happened to all the baby's toys - there seemed to be a lot less toy storage (less of general storage too, for that matter) after than before, but no toys at all on view, apart from the vintage cradle and the vintage whirligig. I have a sneaking suspicion that a lot of stuff was relocated to the baby's room, because it was too modern and plastic for the retro look.
That said, I did like what they did with the bedroom, and thought it was clever to use two mirrors one above the other, over the chest of drawers. And I liked the quilt, and was interested to see the process of machine stitching a quilt like that.
Overall, though, I was a bit disappointed - maybe because the 'look' for this week was sixties inspired, and that doesn't float my boat at all.
