Is anyone else watching this? This week we had a nice gratuitous shirt off scene for Erik and Bill and one of the best insults I've ever heard..

Sounds good :) I'm watching it but not live as I'm the only fan in this house

I've stopped watching it now I'm afraid. I've really gone off it, watched the first ep of the new season but don't think I'll be bothering anymore. Such a shame as I used to really love it too.

Its best viewed as a secret guilty pleasure I think! The thing I like about it, is that it is an equal opportunities nudity show - plenty of lovely men's buttocks on display!

wintera - I nearly lost it after some ridiculous plots in the middle seasons, but last season was not bad, and this one is shaping up OK so far. A nice Jason storyline, but Tara is wearing thin with me now

I think last season was brilliant, particularly near the end.

Im particularly happy to see Christopher Meloni as I was devastated when his contract wasnt renewed on Law & Order.

ArtfulAardvark I agree that last season had more momentum than it has had for a while although I think that they always have too many storylines running at once to really engage with one.
I really like the Erik and Bill double act scenes and I love Pam.
Christopher Meloni - who he?

Quite touched at the Eric and Pam scene where he released her from their blood bond!!

Cannot believe I've missed the beginning of this series! It's only thanks to this thread that I even realised the new series was back on, so thank you!

I need a re-cap of the first three episodes - anyone!

Many thanks

Quick recap:
Sam was beaten up by the werewolf gang to reveal the whereabouts of the gang leaders body. Alcide admitted that he killed him not Sam. This makes him the de facto pack leader now but he rejected it ? it all got a bit growly.
Sam & Erik were arrested by the Authority for killing Nan Flanagan, Eriks ?sister? (some British vampire who he shared a maker with) tried to help them escape after some vampy sex with Erik, but they got caught and tortured. The Authority was going to execute them but they told him that the crazy vampire from a few seasons back (the one who killed the newsreader on live TV) wasn?t actually dead and that they would kill him for the Authority ? so they are now out on vampire parole (which involves an electronic stake being put over their hearts).
Tara was shot at the end of the last season by Alcides crazy ex, so Sookie and Lafayette begged Pam to turn her into a vampire, which she did. Tara was mightily pissed off about this and has gone all angsty and bloodthirsty. We are getting some nice flashbacks to Pam?s real life before she was made a vampire, when she ran a brothel, and how she met Erik.
Umm there?s still some tomfoolery going on between Jason and Jessica, but Jason is starting to feel used and is sad about the quite staggering amount of sex that he gets..
Phew - that wasn?t such a quick recap after all ? have I missed anything out?

Even when its having a duff episode (or series - I'm looking at you Maenad-thingy) it still is one of the better things on TV. I bet Anna Paquins / Stephen Moyers twins are very cute!

I know there was hardly any hype about it before it started again, vamp diaries and the walking dead start next week for anyone that's interested!

IdaBlankenship · 09/10/2012 20:37

Figgygal they are still showing ep4 on FX this week, so all is not lost.
Susiedaisy looking forward to Walking Dead although it literally scares the bejeezus out of me, zombies terrify me!

excellent recap :)

and yes jason gets a lot of sex!!!!

IdaBlankenship · 10/10/2012 14:25

Well it helps that Jason is rather easy on the eyes! Actually I think he & Pam are my favourite characters. I used to love Lafayette, but he is a lot less sassy these days, and as for Tara - ye gods! I wish she had remained deaded on the kitchen floor.

They haven't really done anything with Vampire Tara yet, have they. Maybe she'll have some gripping storyline later in the season?

Report
IdaBlankenship · 10/10/2012 14:37

Oh I know, but she has been in a permanent bad mood for at least 3 seasons now (I'm sure with good cause given her storylines) but they seem to have lost the smart, ballsy Tara that I liked in Season 1

I have watched every one. I must say this season is not as good as the rest imo. there is a good cliffhanger ending though! not sure how next season will pan out Confused

I love TB, can anyone recommend any other programmes I might like?

Witches how come you have seen them all already? Envy
I'm not normally a sci fi / fantasy lover so not sure I'd be any good at recommending stuff. I'm looking forward to the Walking Dead being back on, but that hasn't got the humour of True Blood obviously (or Alexander Skarsgards bottom)!

Ida - Chris Meloni is Roman in this series of True Blood (the one who staked the boy!) he was Elliot Stabler for years in Law & Order.

Will be interested to see what happens with True Blood now Alan Ball is moving on to a new series.

Am loving Pam in this series, she was always a favourite in the books.

Witches yes i totally loved the ending, although some what predictible no? and yes hmmm what will happen!! I don't understand why there are only 12 episodes per season, when clearly all the fans want more, it would be better if they did the usual 20 or so, then they wouldn't have to shove so many storylines in one episode, don't ya think?

Report
IdaBlankenship · 18/10/2012 19:55

I liked this weeks episode - I really liked it when Sookie vommed onto Alcide and Erik and Bill made their sarky comments whilst they lounged in the doorway. Tara actually smiled, so that was nice, and the story seems to be picking up pace. How many more eps are there this season? The Russell storyline looks like its coming to a head, but it can't be over so soon, can it?

I thought Russell's comment about them all making a hell of a noise whilst 'quietly' sneaking through the deserted house to find him was funny!!
