and what would be the criticisms levelled at you?

can you be passionate just by repeating the word passionate ad nauseam?

i love it too - but must admit the judges comments do wind me up!!! so you can be a brilliant cook but if you're not inventive enough or try to be too inventive - you're off!!

I will sound like I do nothing but watch tv on here tonight!

I didn't think that girl deserved to win tonight. Sometimes, like in the last series, they choose people based on something else and last series was a blatant fix!

My criticism would be easy, can't cook at all beyond easy peasy stuff! And needs a recipe to toast bread!

Dd and I watched it for the first time and really liked it (she probably wishes I was as good at cooking). She loves these sorts of programmes (used to like that dinner party one, can't remember what it was called)

yes, i love this and get really cross if miss one. you're right, they don't judge evenly at all, last night's tomato soup was marvellous and today's pepper and tomato soup was dismissed before even tasting. and that woman's rice thing was dull.

I just watched the last series on Uk Food - really enjoyed it. Why do you think it was a fix? I would have liked Mark to win it myself.

I loved the last series but 6.30 is just a mindless, pointless time to put this on. I can never get to the TV at that time and I know I could just sky plus it but I never get around to it and never really have the inclination to watch it later on. I wish they would either put it on earlier (say 5ish when there's nothing else to watch) or put it on at 7.30 (though I suppose it would be up against the soaps then).

Bomper the girl that eventually won was a complete disaster in her first heat, couldn't handle the professional kitchen part. The other two were much better.

Same as at the end, the others she was up against were much better yet faults she made were overlooked and it ended up becoming so blatant a fix. I said to DH after she won the first heat that she would win outright and he didn't believe me. I think she knew someone in the business as there were a couple of big hints about that. Oooh I love a controversy.

Mark should have won, it was a shame he didn't as he had more heart than she did and I can't even remember her name. I stopped buying Good Food magazine for a while as she was in it!
