Yes, I liked him. Promising. Was tired of C Eccleston's one expression anyway!

I thought he was v good but I fancied Ecclestone and don't fancy Tennant so it's not quite as enjoyable for me! I thought it was a good episode though, ds liked it.

It's all down to Russell (don't forget the T!) Davies - his direction etc make this really work.

I, also preferred Christopher E as Tennant is too puny for me... nevertheless thought it very entertaining, and a very good overall watch.

Shame we have to wait until spring for the next series.

I thought it was excellent, very well written

Well, you would, being a Martian Bishop and all...

Loved the episode, think he is too fey and self-regarding for my taste (am on record as finding David Tennant heavy going in everything he does, all that winsome gurning in Blackpool etc)
Mind you, C Eccleston was not behind Tardis door when egomania was being dished out either...
Ds got the boxed set for Christmas - I now know the Slitheen double bill almost word for word

ha ha Marina re Tardis door but also phoar to Ecclestone, Tennant is fey, you're absolutely right.

ah here we go again Marina!
I think you are in fact playing hard to get

he is damn fine

nice new outfit at the end although I enjoyed the pyjamas

anyway, thought the episode was very well written and very enjoyable although dd got scared by the whatever they were called aliens

Phwoar to Tennant. I like fey.

And Yay to Russell 'T' Davies for providing us with ds's longest ever sentence - 'Naughty caca tree go round round, door boof, firework.' So proud.

Liked very much Christopher Eccelston, when there was noone to compare him to because he was smiley and very upbeat. But in a way David Tennant seems to live every emotion and yes heavy going but you understand him in a way CE just goes along with the audience to please the audience and not really to live the part with passion, anger etc...CE very smiley person..and can't wait for next episode, shame have to wait months...think DT is gorgeous, something wild about him too.

Loved Christopher Ecclestone soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much, was ready to HATE David Tennant, but actually he was pretty damn good. Still secretly wish we could have CE back though!!!!

I'm the same. I quite enjoyed the Christmas Invasion but when it was finished I said "I still wish it was Christopher Eccleston" David Tennant was a bit over-the-top in places (hopefully just the regen going wrong)and the story didn't quite grip me as it should have done.

However I watched it again yesterday and it was much improved the second time round. At the end I was thinking "Mmmm David Tennant" so there you are. Watch it again on 1st Jan if you haven't taped it!

Thanks for that Apixelmascarol. Dh missed it on Christmas Day and has been moaning about it ever since. So, now I can put him out of his misery and tell him he has a second chance!!

yum yum
But dh tells me he's only about 5ft 7 so a bit short.
Still good on TV tho.
Not that I'm a Dr Who fan....

who is the next assistant going to be?
Not as much chemistry between the new doctor and Rose so maybe it's a good thing Rose is leaving - much as I love her!

I'm sure I read/heard somewhere that DT is a 6 footer! I've liked him (to my surprise) since Casanova. I much prefer him to CE although I liked CE, just can't forgive someone who buggers off after one series. Also found CE's "mugging" getting a bit tedious.
ANYONE KNOW WHEN ITS GOING TO BE REPEATED?????

Report
harpsiheraldangelssing · 27/12/2005 19:44

yes indeed, David Tennant is 6'1" IIRC, and I believe I do...
you may all make free with your "ooh DT is not very bitch is he" comments because he is sex on a stick so fooey to you all. Not averse to a Bit of Fey myself.
I thought he was too too marvellous as Dr Who, although I though the whole thing owed rather too muich to the Hitchhiker's Guide, which was rather distracting. I will give them the benefit of the doubt and say it was a homage rather than just plain derivative, but time and the next series will tell I suppose.

he's 6'1" franny! hardly an elf now...
though he is rather swooningly slight [hormonal emoticon]

He's a Tall Elf, then. Don't split hairs, and wipe that drool off your chin, it's unbecoming.

ooh harpsi is that really true?
(DH just winding me up then)
Casanova repeated earlier in Dec on ITV 3 or something, very yummy indeed.
There's something about him isn't there, think it's his cheeky grin, mmmmmmmmmm
