Hmm that shouldn't be the case helsi. a statement from Septmeber on the website states :-
"Customers holding unredeemed vouchers issued by ?Oldco? before 1 August, 2005, need to be aware of the following important information:
Vouchers purchased directly from Red Letter Days, either on line via the website or over the phone from the Call Centre, will ALL be honoured regardless of the form of payment used at the time. The only criteria is that the booking must be made before the voucher?s original expiry date.
Vouchers purchased from any Debenhams outlet or from Harrods (including Harrods concession) will ALL be honoured provided that proof of purchase can be provided. All purchases made via retail outlets have always been clearly marked with the requirement to retain proof of purchase to guarantee redemption.
For vouchers purchased from other retail outlets (i.e. House of Fraser, Bentalls, Selfridges, and a small number of other outlets and concessions), customers should return to the retailer concerned to seek a refund, or contact their credit card issuer if payment was made in this way.
Customers that are holding vouchers that have had the expiry date extended by ?Oldco? cannot, however, be honoured by ?Newco?. We accept that these customers will be disappointed and sympathise with them, but due to uncertainty concerning the precise number and nature of extended vouchers that were issued by ?Oldco? the new company feels that honouring these vouchers would unfairly impact upon the possibility of honouring un-extended vouchers. As a gesture of goodwill, ?Newco? will be offering these customers a generous 25 per cent discount should they wish to make a new booking with the new Red Letter Days company. "
So theoretically the only ones not being honoured are those which had expired or been extended. Not used it myself so not sure how it really works or how many might have been affected. If that hasn't been the case perhaps Trading Standards and BBC Watchdog would like to know.
