I know, it's a joke isn't it! If I was pitching I'd be saying 'and don't bloody bother investing thank you very much'!

does she? what's her business?

am starting to hate that prog anyway. they only seem to give money out to existing businesses that the banks would lend to anyway.

She owned a company called Red Letter Days and it fell into admin earlier this year. Loads of sutomers had bought vouchers for fun days out and they are now useless becase the companies accepting them won't do anymore as they won't get paid by her company.

I uldn't listen to her advise!

I can't watch this programme now - it has no credibility with her on the panel. I'm sure a lot of other potential viewers have been lost too.

She runs Red Letter Days, the firm that arranges gift "experiences". Financially 2 of the other "Dragons" (Peter Jones and Theo Paphitis) put money into the company after it was put into administration and it is now trading as a viable company so afaik they should be honouring the old vouchers now.

yes it is under new management now but companies only honour the vouchers from when they started to tade again. many people lost out and her response was appaling.

I still don't think she is a credible judge to give advice.

She was quite proud of the fact that the demise of Red Letter Days got more publicity than any other unlisted SME

and she went to a board meeting about the collapse of red Letter Days the same day she gave birth

and she seems to have a yoyo weight problem (looking at her website Rachel Elnaugh-Entrepreneur)

and she reminds me of Carol Vordermann

Hmm that shouldn't be the case helsi. a statement from Septmeber on the website states :-

"Customers holding unredeemed vouchers issued by ?Oldco? before 1 August, 2005, need to be aware of the following important information:

Vouchers purchased directly from Red Letter Days, either on line via the website or over the phone from the Call Centre, will ALL be honoured regardless of the form of payment used at the time. The only criteria is that the booking must be made before the voucher?s original expiry date.

Vouchers purchased from any Debenhams outlet or from Harrods (including Harrods concession) will ALL be honoured provided that proof of purchase can be provided. All purchases made via retail outlets have always been clearly marked with the requirement to retain proof of purchase to guarantee redemption.

For vouchers purchased from other retail outlets (i.e. House of Fraser, Bentalls, Selfridges, and a small number of other outlets and concessions), customers should return to the retailer concerned to seek a refund, or contact their credit card issuer if payment was made in this way.

Customers that are holding vouchers that have had the expiry date extended by ?Oldco? cannot, however, be honoured by ?Newco?. We accept that these customers will be disappointed and sympathise with them, but due to uncertainty concerning the precise number and nature of extended vouchers that were issued by ?Oldco? the new company feels that honouring these vouchers would unfairly impact upon the possibility of honouring un-extended vouchers. As a gesture of goodwill, ?Newco? will be offering these customers a generous 25 per cent discount should they wish to make a new booking with the new Red Letter Days company. "

So theoretically the only ones not being honoured are those which had expired or been extended. Not used it myself so not sure how it really works or how many might have been affected. If that hasn't been the case perhaps Trading Standards and BBC Watchdog would like to know.

That's fine - good on them but her comany still needed to be saved. Maybe they should have a more reputable panelist.
