Yup!

The 3 witches/hags are binmen.

Joe Macbeth has been promised 3 Michelin stars.

Still a bit lost myself lol

at least we'll recognise the murder though lol

I'm finding it hard to follow and keep wanting to open my copy of the play to see if I can figure it all out!

well we've had the murder and Macbeth and Lady Macbeth have been feeling guilty.

Lady Macbeth, Ella, is beginning to feel really bad just as Joe Macbeth begins to enjoy his fame. His conscience seems to be evaporating.

Well.... having seen the milk bottle... maybe not! lol

Lady Macbeth did see the blood, 'Out damned spot'. Did Macbeth get themadnees too, later on ? I can't remember

Report
MarsLady · 14/11/2005 21:51

No... Macduff kills Macbeth who goes a little madder and madder until the end.

Lady Macbeth goes completely barmy as you can see!

I didn't understand the bit with the little boy at the end. I know he was Billy's (Banquo's) son. But why was he there, staring at Malcolm?

Report
MarsLady · 14/11/2005 22:38

because part of the "witches" prophecy was that Banquo's son and his son and his son etc.... would inherit.

So it was a timely reminder to us all that though Malcolm is top dog now... Banquo's son would become that man!

thank you for the summary! it was doing my head in trying to remember my o level english lit classes.

I really enjoyed it in between trying to figure out who was who.

I thought it was really good, although it took me a while to work out that Billy was Banquo. Couldn't think why they'd changed his name when they'd kept most of the others.

Have to say though that when Shakespeare does tragedy, he does it in a big way!

i thought bits were really clever like Banquos ghost visiting being a mobile phone video message

Thanks Marslady, was wondering why Billy/Banquo's son appeared too! I don't know if this worked as well as last weeks Much Ado, which adapted to its modernisation and didn't have annoying Kate bloody Beckinsale in it!

Taming of The Shrew next week, Rufus Sewell, yum.
