Rome. How should it be rated?

Have you seen Rome? A friend expressed horror last night when she heard that my ds(10) watched a recorded version of last weeks Rome with my dh. This weeks is recorded and waiting to be watched, should he? How explicit are the sex scenes, would your children watch this...

a 10 yr old - no way.

it wasn't that the sex scenes were explicit so much as the fact that there was a lot of violence and rape scenes which were un-commented on in the story.

Agree with SP - definitely not suitable for children

If it were a film it would be at least a 15 certificate I think

Probably not for young kids but tbh I don't really worry about 'guidlines'... some children are far maturer than others.

it would be an 18, and no 10 yr old is mature enough for it, weesaidie.

I thought it was shite the whole thing, desperate disappointment actually...

If you say so.

But I don't think it should be an 18.

no need to be sarcy. perhaps you were making a cup of tea during the scenes in question.

oh dear! Showed this thread to dh (who inevitably got defensive) apparently ds has already seen the second episode. He wont be seeing any more! Should I explain rape to him? Think I'd better watch the videos before talking to him. God I'm mad with dh!

Wow, very explicit sex scenes!

At least a 15, if not 18 and it is so violent.

I wouldn't let a 10 year old watch it.
