Recipe of the week

penguinmum's creamy fish pie: smoky, seasonal fish in a creamy white sauce with grated, rather than mashed, tatties on top - a meal of the highest comfort-food order.

Brilliant idea, I only wish I had thought of it for DS.

I do believe strongly in creating memories to mark occassions rather than just vouchers, latest phone etc. DS seems to enjoy as he often recalls such occasions. Not necessarily expensive just special.

Interesting idea...

I suspect most things need to be personal but I suppose some generic ideas might be.. going somewhere remarkable, doing something new and exciting, learning a new skill, reading something life-changing, buying condoms learning wanking techniques bonding in a manly way etc ... and then personalised for preference.

no, we haven't but like the idea for DS's 18th (couple of years yet). Am bumping because I think it's a great idea.

Have just read an article about a boy whose dad helped him plan a year of coming of age projects. They ranged from walking the London loop to taking an off road driving lesson, or arranging a dinner party. He did 13 projects in all to reflect his turning form a child o a teen.

Has anyone done anything similar? Or would you consider doing something like this? If so, what would you/ did you do?

Emphasis: To bold a word, surround it with asterisks, so *hello* will display hello. For underline use _ , so _hello_ gives hello. For italics use ^, so ^hello^ gives hello. To strike out a word, surround it with two hyphens either side, so --dog-- gives dog

Links The simplest way to insert a link is to enter the link itself, surrounded by [[ and ]]. So if you type [[www.mumsnet.com]], the link will display as http://www.mumsnet.com. If you want your link to display text other than the web address itself, leave a space after the address then add the text before the ]]. So "Look at [[www.mumsnet.com this page]]", would display "Look at this page".
