I think it depends how early/late the girl starts her periods.

Once started, there is only a limited amount of skeletal growth to be expected.

I think 16 is average but between 11 & 19 is possible. It is older for boys 19 is the average I think.

umm she started at 13 (almost 14)

she seems to have very short legs compared to her body...needs petite bottoms....i thought she would be a bit taller as i am 5'6 and her dad is 6'3......she is 5'5.....maybe she has a bit more growing to do then.

I stopped at about 13/14!! (at didn't start my periods until I was nearly 12!).

I did grow an extra 2cm when I was 18/19yr old - think it must have been the sun.

Still a short arse though

DD has started at 11 (I was 14!) and is 5', I really hope she carries on growing for several more years. At least she has size 5 feet I was only a 1 at that age!

My DP is 6'3 also..we met when he was 17 and he definately didn't stop growing until 21....all the boys seem to be like him, they are all quite short compared to their friends..ds13 has just had a massive growth spurt and has caught up to dd.

Once my dds have grown up I am truly going to be a midget in a family of giants. I'm not looking forward to it tbh! Perhaps dd1 will also be a bit of a shorty and keep me company.

CarGirl - I'm already starting to worry about being the midget in my house too.

DS1(8) is already scarily catching me up, DS2 is taller than DS1 was at the same age, and DS3 is taller then either of they were as a toddler too.

i was giving my twinnies a joint hug yesterday and i was nestled between dd's boobs and ds's man chest.

it was larvely awww

CarGirl · 01/01/2009 22:35

Well I'm 7th centile and dd2 is 98th centile, hmmm I think I only have a couple of years until she catches me up tbh. However I think she will be too skinny to borrow my clothes - she is very slim (like me) so we're thinking supermodel or tennis player...........$$$$$$$$$$$$

idobelieveinsanta · 01/01/2009 22:36

awww custardo.......how old are your twinnies??

My older twinnies (boys) have a massive height differnce between them, can't wait to see what happens there!

16 in march,

ds was always a squirt, like me and i thought it was a shame, becuase boys have a thing about height - that i dont think girls get hung up about ( i don't)

so we started measuring him with notches in the door post and he literally grew a couple of inches between measurements he is now taller than his sister, and he never ever has been, he farkin loves it.

how old are yours idobelieve?

Report
idobelieveinsanta · 01/01/2009 22:46

older twins are 7..huge height difference between then (taller one is average-shorter one is very very small)

2nd set are 4 yrs boy/girl..exactly the same height..always have been.

I think it depends on many things- diet, genes, etc.
I started and stopped growing at 13- shot up 6" in a year... I am just 5' 0"

Report
CarGirl · 01/01/2009 22:48

EPPM, 5' is a good height, I'm 1m53 so just scrape over 5' I think.

Report
girlandboy · 01/01/2009 22:50

I started my periods at 15 and didn't stop growing until I was 18. I'm 5ft 10"

All rather late!
