Good multi-vitamin/iron supplement for dd

Dd (age 12) started her periods about 2 months ago. Since then they have been quite frequent, 2-3 weeks apart, and she is, understandably, quite tired at times. I know this is normal and don't want to take her to the GP yet; obviously I will if she keeps on getting them this frequently. But could anyone recommend a good supplement to help keep her strength up - maybe with iron - not too sure whether this is a good idea or not.

Her diet by the way is quite healthy - she eats lots of fruit and stuff but good natural sources of iron are ...... green veg, red meat, eggs?, anything else?

I used to take this when I was you daughter's age, and again when breastfeeding my DD. You can get it from most health foood shops, I think.

Tastes a bit nasty, but is good stuff, and you can knock it back with a glass of OJ in the morning before school.

When me dd started her periods and they were very heavy & erratic I upped her meat & veg intake and made sure she had cereal for breakfast. Also made sure she got plenty of rest.

Thanks for the replies. One of the problems is that she quite often also complains that she feels full up, even before a meal. She drinks quite a lot of milk (semi-skimmed). She usually has toast for breakfast but I will suggest cereal .... and will check out the floradix .. interesting that it says it is a "natural" form of iron .... I wonder if that means it doesn't have the side-effects (constipation) often associated with iron supplements.
