At what age does the 'teenager business' begin?

DS (9 next month) is very mature for his age and recently he is becoming increasingly difficult, mood swings, stomping round, snappy etc, is he to young for it to be pubrty hormones kicking in?

could be, although I think that is early for a boy..........

My DD1 started really about 9-10, although looking back that was a doddle compared to what she puts us through now she is 14!

It could be anything though - my friend's ds was awful aged 10 for some reason but we never figured out why - he's fine now and is 13/14. Puberty is starting now but he doesn't appear to have mood swings as such.

As they're growing up I think they like to assert their independence and the safest way to do this is to give their long suffering parents a hard time IME!!

Hmmm i suppose it could be either then, im hating it though, i feel like such a crap parent, sometimes i'd swear he dislikes me

I know it's cold comfort but you will come out the other side and he will love you again (possibly when he starts secondary school and feels like a youngster again).
