Do you worry more about your teenage boys or girls?

My cousin spent a night in hospital last week as he was beaten up by a group of boys.

This is the third incident. He has been singled out by this gang over the last couple of months.

  1. They set upon him on a bus. They were removed by the driver.

  1. He was chased down a street, he ran to the nearest house. Thankfully, the lady who lived there let him in. She called the police, they were outside knocking on the door for a while before leaving.

He has been taking 3 different buses instead of the usual 1 to avoid this gang. He'd been to the police station twice before this last incident. His friend was there too, he sustained a broken jaw, poor lad. My aunt said she doesn't know what would happen if his mate weren't there.

It's so often boys who are victims of violence. (My brother was mugged on a bus when he was 16).

It's so very sad.

Poor lad.

Young 16 yr old boy was beaten up near here on NYE.

I have a teen dd ,will worry more about ds when he grows up than I do about her.

Shall I enrol him for Karate now?

My brother @ the time was 14 who has a terminal illness called cystic fibroses got beaten up by a group of lads when on day he was walkinging up to the local shop.
according to them while thay where kicking/punching the life out of him thay told him they did'nt like the look of his face.
you can imagine our whole family went balistic, the police couldnt do anything cos my brother never had a chance to properly look at thier faces and ever since then he doesnt leave the house unless he has someone with him. he is now 21.

I have a 7yr old son and cos of this my son and Dds are attending Karate classes every week cos know I can't be there for the rest of thier lives when they are out and about but I sure will make sure thay have the ability to know self defense that might help them if they god forbid ever came across the same situation.
