DS...has just come home from a festival a day early...enraged! Really horrid mood...looks like he has smoked weed....found out gf has cheated on him...says he will leave Town tomorrow and sleep rough..hates it here...hates his Father..(divorced...never a good relationship).....I have never seen him like this...quite scared...don't quite know what to do....no good reasoning with him....just hope he calms down...I have to be up early for work...(((:

Oh dear, I hope he calms down by the morning and that you are ok. Are you scared about his mood or for your safety? A good night's sleep will help him be more rational, hopefully, as sleeping rough won't help as far as I can see....how old is he?

No, no good reasoning with home. Make him a cup of tea and something to eat, let him know you are there for him and encourage him to go to bed. Things should have settled a little by then. Was it a long term
Girlfriend?

Hes hurt, Let him sleep it off and think it through. Maybe prepare a note for him if you are up and away before he surfaces in the morning detailing how much you love him and how other people can be shit and why you don't want him to go etc. Sometimes its better written because it can be read over and over again.

Hello,
He is still sleeping, I have had to come home from work as no sleep last night and seeing Doc later as feeling very stressed..long term gf...(18 nearly)...both been dependent on each other etc.....so he feels quite lonely and extremely hurt..he left me a rambling note ...incoherent....I left note explaining the understanding that he is hurt and could we talk later...I hope we can....He feels all his plans are ruined...Doesn't help that he does not have a supportive Father....he was taking anguish out on him (never there for him)....very sad....

He will be calmer when he wakes but still distraught. It's good your home for you and him. Try not to question him about it. Be the tea and toast slave. Nothing hurts more than seeing your child in pain.
Don't worry about numpty dad. He has a useful purpose , letting your son vent his anger on him. We only need one persons comfort and he's got that from you. You however need a friend or relative to talk it through with as your keeping his and your emotions to yourself. That then brings you down.

A bit of space to sort his head out is no bad thing! How far are you away from his Nan? Is it your mum or his dad's? Another person who will give him some TLC at this time - and then maybe a wee kick up the bum- should be good. Hope you are ok x

Its his Dads Mum...about 25 miles away. he does not want to live in the same Town anymore...wants to move out 'have his own life'......
His Nan is non-judgemental..and will listen...hopefully give some wise advise..
I'm emotionally exhausted...it hurts so much doesn't it as a Mother.....having to sit back and ...'wait and see'....

Thank goodness for nans! There is a while yet till sept so his views can change. The results make them think again too.
Nan will work her magic I'm sure. It's a great idea for him to go there.
