How to know when you're in love.

I think I may be in love, however I am not sure as I have not experienced it before! I've also been told that a lot of the emotions are alike.
If you ask why I'm not asking someone I know - It's because it's embarrassing !
Is there any way that I can stay in love with someone?

Generally speaking I would say that if you feel like you're in love, then you're in love.

But then there may be times when it's inappropriate or inadvisable to express it, times when someone might take advantage of your strong feelings and also there are those early stages of a relationship when the feeling can be more like infatuation.

To give a better answer I think we'd need to know how old you are and who you're in love with.

Do you think about him all the time? Do you get butterflies in your stomach when you see him? Do you want to touch him, hold his hand? Do you want to spend as much time as possible with him? All those things happened to me the first time I was in love. :)
