DS 13 Wants to model clothes but there's a problem

Hi, My 13 year old recently mentioned modelling clothes for teenage boys (for example in magazines and catalogues) , something that he used to do when he was 7 or 8 but there is a problem, people who have read my previous threads will know that my child has a problem with weight. When he used to do it he was skinny and in my opinion very attractive, he is still quite good looking now but there is just the problem that he is noticeably fatter than his friends. Would a modelling agency accept an overweight child ? , I'm also pretty sure that some pants with buttons and zips for that age wouldn't even fit his waist. Should I help him lose weight first ?

Any advice or suggestions would be much appreciated Smile

children of 13 don't lose weight by dieting - it is even stupider for them than it is for adults. He grows out of the weight by sensible eating and exercise.

model agencies have grossly distorted visions of what is normal. I'd stay well clear.
