I know,I know it's a horrible game but DS is almost 17 and just bought it.
Does anyone know if you need to buy x box live to play it? Seems there's not enough disk space otherwise. Thanking you all in advance!

I don't know about xbox live, we already have that.
This is a game I have always banned but DS1 is 18 in a few weeks. I am contemplating whether to say "not in my house", which he would abide by, or whether to leave it to him to buy it when he's 18.

We have sorted it now thanks, didn't need live, just a memory stick! I've told him I don't wanna hear it blaring out in the lounge, he says the graphics are brilliant. All I can hear is the 'f' word every 2 minutes!!

According to my friends its the best one yet, with an excellent plot and not nearly as problematic regarding the swearing and the sexism as the previous games. And as your ds is almost 18 I wouldn't worry.

You don't need xbox live to play, but you do need to install the game from the disc. Depending on the xbox version and how often your son cleans out his hard disc he might not have enough memory.

I've been playing GTA since the first and this one has got the cleverest, most intelligent story line I've seen. No glorification of crime or violence (it takes place, but is regarded as a hard and dirty thing) and while there are strip clubs there are also consistent examples of the main characters rejecting or deploring sexist behaviour.

One of the main playable characters is a parent who has to deal with his sons drug use and playing of violent computer games, as well as a daughter who wants to join the porn industry (which is prevented... aggressively).

Do not let anyone use it user the age of 18 UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES

It is violent and will cause scenes of distress
I let my son buy it at 15 and he's flipping mad with nightmares

Some fully grown adults will flip out at only moderately scary/gory films. It all depends on your disposition.

A high percentage of teenagers these days will be playing games like GTA/Call of Duty etc.

I'm sure that life will go on and we will not be faced with a generation of completely degenerate, dysfunctional adults in 20 years' time.

This game causes the a kind of moral panic that is completely and utterly unjustified IMHO.

There is a lot of swearing in it. It would be nice if you could mute that stuff.

I'm a teenager still pretty much, you can sleep with people in gta v, you can buy sex from prostitutes on the game, you do drugs on the game, you can go to strips clubs, and you kill people.. Wouldn't recommend.. I'm 18 and I thought it was a bit much, just saying.

You need Live for the online mode, however.

Nice thread resurrection.
