My troubled son

Hello. I have a son of nearly 15 at boarding school. He has been suspended a number of times for stealing from his peers, shop lifted from the local town and I think he will be expelled. I am at my wits end. He does not know why he is doing it and says he thinks one day he will go to jail! He is an only child, divorced parents and suffers from ADHD. Intelligent and witty, how can I help him!

Possibly controversial, but if he's at boarding school, maybe he's doing it to get attention from his parents?
Would it be possible to give him a fresh start and get him into a school where he can live at home?
