I've put this on chat, but realise it should be here.
DS is applying this summer.
Has anyone got a DS/DD that's done it?
Feedback would be great. thanks.

My DD has just applied for it. I think what you get out of it and for the cost it really is a no brainer.

The lads they wheeled out at a meeting the other night were really enthusiastic about it. Probably a bit too enthusiastic lol

My DS's school don't know anything about it, so i haven't been to any meetings. I just found it online & he's applied. I did speak to some admin staff in London who were very impressive. The blurb that came through wasn't terribly informative, just 1 week residential then 2 weeks volunteering in local community.
I'd be interested to know any further info. Thanks.

DD done it two years ago, was fantastic really built her confidence, so much so shes off on Raleigh International for three months later this year.

She did one week on a challange week (outward bound) then one week residential doing their chosen thing ie media, photography etc. Then the last week in the local community. She made so many new friends and learnt some fabulous skills. This from someone who had such low confidence it was painful. She was meant to go with friends but all pulled out so went alone bar one girl she new vaguely from school as did a lot of the children, but the staff were use to that and did team building games and suchwot straight away.

Get your DS to have a look at their facebook page, there should be some information on there for him.
