dd and barbies

I think my dd is the only thirteen year old who still plays with Barbies. She is a bit embarrassed about it but I'm not too bothered cos it is obviously fulfilling a need for her. I know I was still playing with dolls at 12 but I'm not sure about 13.
Does anyone know of any other 13 year old with Barbies? Or is she really weird??

I don't know of any, but I'm sure she's not the only 13 year old that does. If she enjoys it, then I don't see the harm. She'll grow out of it in her own time

my dd will occasionally still play Polly Pocket but usually at her 9yo brothers insistence. She doesnt want me to get rid of them just yet

Sounds normal to me. I played with dolls sometimes at about taht age and am sure lots of other kids did too. dss is 14 and when he comes round to ours he plays with all his lego and old toys, stuff that he wont play with at home in case any of the other kids find out. Kids feel alot of pressure to grow up from other kids around them and sometimes need a place where they can revert back to being kids.

My 13 year old has recently stopped playing with barbies, but when she was 10 my eldest DD enjoyed playing with them with her and she was 15 at the time!
She still some times plays with her polly pockets and Diva Star dolls.
