son looking at gay porn

My 15 year old son uses internet porn - no visuals since we caught him at it 2 years ago, but he listens to audio erotica - tries to cover his tracks but it's easy to find what he's been doing. He's been searching recently for downloads of gay audio erotica. He's also downloaded straight audio porn, I know because he left some on a short-cut and his younger sister found it. He's just 15 and goes to an all-boys day-school - has always been friends with girls, but doesn't see any at school and doesn't go out at the weekends, so as far as I'm aware there are no girls in his life. His half-brother who is 30 came out two and a half years ago as gay. I can't discuss this with my husband as he finds having one gay son quite hard. Any advice? is it normal for a boy to be interested in gay porn if he isn't gay? has anyone else had this sort of experience?

He is 15 so i reckon it is most probably curiosity

I agree with love cloud I am a straight married 30 something and have to admit since haveing the internet I have had a nose at most things . If I had had access at 15 I would probably have been even worse.

I was mortified when i found out about history on your pc - i dread to think what my first job saw onb my history pages when i left. i spent the whole day looking up weird and wonderful things.

i even asked the website "ask jeeves" if he was gay?

... yes i know - very immature

i am pleased to say i have now grown up and i know now to reg delete my history and cookies on my pc

Might be worth investing in some filtering software?!

Would it be worth speaking to his half-brother about it? The gay sites, I mean, not the filtering software

Thanks so much everyone, lots of reassuring thoughts there. I liked the suggestion of talking to my step-son - might do that, though he and I aren't terribly close, but what it made me realise was that I should talk to my step-daughter who's 25 and whom we see quite a lot. I need someone in the family to talk to about it (including my husband's fears about ending up with two gay sons) and she's the obvious/ideal person. I haven't been able to get on here to say any of that till now due to inordinate amounts of time being spent on dd (13) and her horrible teenage tantrums. Her school has a 2-week half term and I've been earning medals for patience and support but it's all gone pear-shaped as we have just had the worst row ever. Don't know why I worry about ds - at least he's civilised and nice to have around ...

I think your husband should examine his homophobic valuesAngry ' ending up with two gay Sons' FFS... Poor boys.

And he is 15, not 5. Quite normal to explore your sexuality gay or straight. You sound like quite a repressed houshold. Don't alienate your son over something so trivial.

You've really got to wonder about the motives of someone who bumps a thread entitled "gay porn" eleven years later.

Well he's not 15, he's 26 now Grin

Come on OP, we need an update! Did he, in fact, "catch the gay"?

I think it could most probably be curiosity. I have watched pretty much every genre over the years (apart from sicko!!) and I'm a heterosexual woman with no other facets to my sexlife!
There is always the chance that he might be having some thoughts on his sexuality and exploring this new field of possibility.

Ffs!! I've just realised this is an ancient thread!!

We found gay porn on my stepbrothers laptop at the same age. He point blank denied it when gently and considertely asked about it.

He eventually came out as bisexual at 19 (I already knew and had reassured him a few times his sexuality didn't matter, only him being happy). He's since now admitted he's gay.

He could be gay, straight or bisexual. Does it really matter.

The reason he was worried about coming out is because his eldest brothers gay and he was worried about letting his dad down as he always made jokey comments to the other three boys and he didn't want to be the butt of their "jokes".

I have a set if cousins, five sisters. Two are lesbians. I do believe it's genetic. My aunt and my step dad all found it so much easier hearing it from the second child.

I dont think it should matter in this day and age. Although I know if one of my children are gay I will worry about the reactions they will have from others throughout life, so I understand that.
