My new babies :)

I picked up two baby rats on Saturday! Our local NFRS breeder has opened a pet shop and took a few of her rats, mice and hamsters along. Only two of the rats weren't reserved and I swear they knew it. These two were playing by the cage door being all cute and coming up to the door. She told us to take out any if we wanted for a play and the other four ignored us (too busy playing) whilst these two came straight out. We were getting two more in August anyway to keep our big girls company as one is dying, but we couldn't walk away from these two, they're gorgeous!

Oh, they're named Aeryn and Zhaan, Aeryn is the agouti, Zhaan is the black rex. Tjhey certainly suit their names

Are they boys or girls Pixie?
They have got the most intense black eyes haven't they (especially the photo in the hay hammock) You can almost hear their little rat brains whirring as they think up mischief.

So is this 6 rats now (soon to be 8)?

Girls :) They have very intense eyes, and they are utterly mad babies. I don't remember our boys being this amusing, or popcorning as much!

This is 6 rats, we won't be getting any more for a while now, probably some boys after Christmas to go in with our big boys :)

I've never seen male rats awake they are always (when I see them in petshops) lying in little houses or hammocks with their tails casually strewn out and the feet poking out and their mahoosive rat bollocks airing (my male guinea pig now has no bollocks to air)

The girls look like their auditioning for Rat Gladiators

Haha, our boys are lazy so-an-so's, gorgeous ones though. They're quite active occasionally still, but they are still relatively young, 8 months-ish. I love it when their lying half out of their hammocks airing their mahoosive bollocks, it's very amusing

They're getting really big now, we noticed this morning that they've both had another growth spurt over the past week. Haku is now around 500g I need to buy a set of digital kitchen scales later and work out just how big he is.

I bought the scales and weighed all but Nibbles.
Howl: 530g
Haku: 632g
Ruby: 433g
Nibbles: TBC
Aeryn: 129g
Zhaan: 109g

Can't find consistent size guides though, Haku isn't even fat, he's just really stocky!
