Can you tell if my boars like me ?

They are 6 months old and we had them for 4 months now. They are quite shy but I think we are slowly getting there. I'm trying to handle them and cuddle them every day. I think they like to be stroked. They treats from my hand. I think they squeaked in protest this morning because I didn't give them their treats fast enough.

When I want to pick them up from their hutch, one of them doesn't want to be picked up. Is it all normal ?

Absolutely normal. My 2 boys have lived with us since they were 6 months old (they are now 2 1/2) so are really, really used to all of us. One of them is happy to be picked up and the other really doesn't want to be touched when he's in his cage. He will come for treats and accepts them happily, but runs off and hides if we try to touch him. Weirdly he is the one who will sit most happily on a lap to be stroked - it's just in his cage he doesn't want to be touched. Pigs are odd things really.

100% they can be feisty little critters.
GP1 used to do a blood curdling shriek when he was picked up (he did this when we first got him though before I picked him up. It's just him )

GP2 was like the chase scene in Benny Hill.

Our new boy GP3 is a bit easier to catch now he's bigger.
But when we cuddle him he mutters away to himself non stop

GP1 went very mute after GP2 died , but he's getting his voice back Smile

Some will snuggle right into your neck.
Some will try to leap off your shoulder in a kamakazee mission

Some will go off to sleep sprawled out

(My GP3 does a weird little thing with his legs where he stretches them out behind him Grin )
