Running out of time to rehome buns

I have two 3 year old buns. I'm separating from my husband and moving into rented and cannot take buns with me.

I've advertised locally and via tinternet and apart from a couple of fruit loops who sounded like they couldn't look after themselves let alone care for two buns, I've not had any potential new owners come forward.

I'm getting worried that I'll need to take them to the local RSPCA but what if they don't want them?

I have a week left and am at breaking point. They have had the run of our garden, absolutely love each other and I'm scared of what their future may hold and really don't know what to do for the best.

Hi Orange, I'm in Leicestershire. I'd happily bring them to you just to know they had a lovely new home. I can't bear the thought of giving them to a rescue with the thought they might get separated. They've been such a big part of my life.

Oh Orange, I'm feeling your pain Chocks and Flops started out as No.2 sons pets but as soon as he hit the teenage years they became my babies. I love them for all their quirks and grumpiness

Loving your tactic Orange. I'm dreading the day mine go and not waking them up in the morning with a bit of broccoli. My routine revolves round them and what do I get in return?... A nose nudge that says 'bugger off and let me eat me broccoli'!

I'm sorry you are in this position Lozis, I would arrange to take your rabbits in to a rescue centre rather than advertising them. I got our rabbits from rescue. They are very strict about the type of home and people they will allow to take your rabbits on , so you will have peace of mind knowing they have a nice home.

I agree with asking a rescue if they can help you out by taking them for rehoming. There is no way they will separate a bonded pair of rabbits unless they felt it was for the rabbits own good. (such as if they started fighting) They will vet homes thoroughly and will also provide back up if things go wrong in the new home and take them back at any time.
