Which paint for guinea pigs?

Obviously I don't want to paint the piggies! Shock but I do want to re-treat their hutch to protect it. It's multicoloured and the kids love it so I'd like to keep it like that. Don't want to poison my piggies but can't seem to find much info on what paint is safe / not safe to use.

Anyone got any idea?

I had a look on the bunny websites WRT painting hutches. They recommend Cuprinol Garden Shades (available in different colours)

Pets at Home do an animal safe paint for hutches (I don't know if it's waterproof) and no idea what colours it would be.

Our Pighouse was my DC playhouse in it's previous existance so it had already been painted with external wood paint.
DH treated the inside before the pigs moved in but he can't remember what with Hmm

Luckily my piggles don't chew their surroundings (GP2 eats cardboard)

What colour are your guinea-pigs? They might fancy a change of colour?
Our hogs are jet black and golden agouti so not much scope for a quick colour change.
Unless I paint a white stripe on the black pig's back and he can pretend to be a skunk Grin

My pigs smell like skunks - think it's bathtime Grin

Cuprinol Garden Shades should be fine for the exterior as they aren't likely to chew that. I've used it before on other things in the garden and the colours are nice and bright.

I'm just about to decorate the 'pig room' in our house and have no idea what colour to paint it. The GP's are pushing for parsley green!

Some of the wilkinsons varnish is animal safe - fairly cheap too.
