Guineas Grin
My DD has 2 boars.
I had GPs at her age. By the time I was 22 I'd had twelve over the years.

Rabbits don't wheek or squeak or popcorn. Or rumblestrutt or 'shark' as my DD calls it.

And you can't put a rabbit inside your cardigan and say "Let's go and look what's in the fridge" (unless it's a small rabbit) Grin

Rabbits have two does. Always had rabbits as a child and my sister had guinea pigs. Having GP would be admitting defeat.

Guinea pigs!! They are so full of character, I love the sounds they make. Rabbits always seem to want to get away from me, using any means necessary.

Pigs make much better pets

Rabbits are really hard to handle and pretty much just sit there

You can talk to guinea pigs!

Never had a bun, so cann't compare. Have had piggies for over 6 years now, boars and sows. Guinea pigs are lovely.

Next door had rabbits first. |they zoom around the garden and kick their fence. Gives us quite a jump. Then they took on a 2 very long haired guinea pigs dumped at the vets. My neighbour works at the vets, she is a lovely person Smile.

Rabbits are cute to look at but in my experience a bit psycho!!
Now have two gorgeous but nutty guinea pigs, they have more character , speak to you and have a range of expressions when they look at you! Love them to pieces!

Both! Have a house bun who I could not be without. He's our second house bun - he's wonderful and is starting to understand/obey some commands. He loves going to bed with my DD's and has a weird sock obsession (steals any that are left lying around). He does spend a lot of time relaxing, but then so do our pigs. I wouldn't be without them either, even though they are a lot messier than current bun, very noisy and bicker constantly. They are very useful lawnmowers and composters and exceedingly funny to watch.

After our previous rabbit died, we weren't going to get another. We'd promised our DD's they could have pigs when we moved house and initially we did just get the pigs. A month later everyone else came home from school/work to find current bun installed in the kitchen - turns out I couldn't live without a rabbit - none of the family were surprised.

My DD helped with the school bunnies but said they weren't as nice as the guineas.
Only two were suitable for handling by children (they always had an adult to supervise) .They had to 'corall' the rabbits into the run while they cleaned the cage out then coax them back.
My DD didn't call them bitey little feckers but I'm sure that's what she meant Grin

Never again will I fall for the cuteness of a bun Hmm

I should have learnt from my first two but nooooooo....I thought that the escaping, causing the neighbor to shout at my mum and me because they had eaten his veg garden, the hating being help, refusing to do anything they were asked, and digging out of their run was just them Hmm

The next two were worse :(

I actually very very nearly went for a netherland dwarf before the pigs - thank the lord I didn't fall for the ears! Wink

Guineas! Can always tell when they are happy, hungry or excited. They are really clever and answer when you talk to them. Am thinking about replace DH with another pig!

Even Hazel and fiver would scratch and bite to get down - never fall for the ears!

70 DD1 went through a Watership Down phase. She read the book. We're got the original film on video. The box set series on 14 DVDs!! Slighty different ending. And the ornaments spin off from the tv shoe.Shock

I've been rather out spoken on another thread about designer wallpaper for a 2yo. It reminds DD1 a rabbits spirit cann't remember which one she said following the Black Rabbit of Inrha (sp?). DD2 just doesn't like the colour choices she's not that deep thinking. IME children have nightmares over the strangest things. .

Actually really fancy a Watership Down now. We have a free day on friday Hmm.

Bonkey I was never allowed to see and still haven't seen Bambi. So my kids haven't seen it either.

I think my Mum was about 4 when she saw it at the cinema. She cried all though Christmas and that's the reason I was banned.
