Happy piggies!

I have 2 very happy piggies this evening... I'v bought their outdoor run into our kitchen and they are now running round squeaking like mad things going in and out of tunnels and generally making noises like they are in piggy paradise!

DP thinks I'm mad but i'v just sat for ages watching them go mental... De stresses me after a shit day at work!

How are your piggies this evening?

:)

They have had strawberry tops and the massive stalk from a broccoli that they took it in turns with! :)

My (human) babies will love seeing the girls in the kitchen in the morning!

Mine are still in the Pighouse with an oil filled heater , a truckload of hay and straw at the back (their haybox is about 3'x3' )
A hotwater bottle in a padded pillowcase/protector thing tucked in the middle.

The temp is a nice 15c (on the lowest setting) in the Pighouse. They can burrow themselves in the hay but most of the time they are in their corners (non huggy types) I leave the lid of the haybox up at night to let the warmth circulate and by day they have their assorted Snugglepads and Hotties .

They definately seem happier than they were in their cage. But if it does get nasty out they will have to come in and deal with it Grin

They're troughing down sweetcorn, celery leaves, rocket, red cabbage and a bit of parsley. (Bless)

I don't know about de-stressing-
we were cuddling the pigs this evening. GP1 had his bum on DD shoulder and his head on my shoulder. When she tickled his tummy, he was pulling at my fleece and giving me the "ratface" Grin

She was at risk of being peed, I was at risk of being savaged (not really, he wouldn't get through the fleece)
I had to bundle him inside my fleece "to stop that nasty girl touching your little tummy, babywaby hog" - and we gave her a collective judgey look.

Sorry to hear about your heating Santa - hope it gets fixed soon. My heating regularly packed up in old house with old housebun and we'd cuddle up under blankets together to keep warm.

My piggies are getting excited as they've just seen me carry their old blanket to the conservatory and so they know it's nearly playtime. I am less excited as while they play, I get to clean their cage Envy

DBoar1 is sitting on my lap. He's a bit embarrassed after having a fairly dreadful haircut the other day, leaving only a Jedward style quiff and some strange nose topiary where he jumped at the wrong moment.

He has a message for everyone. Here it is.

I have just caved on making them live outside all winter and tonight they are settling into the living room rather happily. We don't have a great place to put them, no suitable porch, so they make the living room smell like a stable, but they are very satisfied.

Oh Kritiq you do make me laugh, especially re the hair cut - Im sure he is MUCH more handsome than Jedward, and can certainly communicate better:) - loved his message to us all, now just need some Bletchley type decoding.
THis will be our first Christmas without guineas for 8 years, - I really will miss my Christmas cuddles and christmas breakfast morning preparing sprout leaves - they never like them, but a special treat was always their present, usually spinach, banana skin (!) or bread, which they loved..... never had peach coloured wee tho' ... Looking forward to seeing all your christmas pics with guineas wearing hats etc !
