I have two brother chinchillas (Cyril and Fred) and adore them (although Cyril is a tad grumpy and doesn't like being held or stroked much)!

Yay Smile what colour are they?

I have chinnie, fugde, sam, coco.

Chinnie and fugde had babies(not planned) coco arrived then fugde moved out got the snip and got a new girlfriend called sam.

Does fred like to be held?

I don't know anyone who has chinchilla's even so i get asked what they are!

Both grey. Named after dh and mines granddad! Fred is ok at being held but still tends to be nervous (even though I've had them both approx a year). He's much more confident and will happily stand at the edge of their cage sniffing out what goodies I may have for them! I wanted two chinnies for ages and took lots of time to look into what it involved! Can't understand why not many people know about them! My heart melts just watching them both cuddle up together!

Thats lovely Smile. I bet they BOTH come running to see what treats you have!! They are sweet pets. My mum and dad made a play room for them, they adore them.

I have 2 grey, one pure black and one a colour of an inside of a fugde(hence the name)

My chinnies have tubes which they love you can pick them up from the local carpet shop they chew for hours and the are free! I love it when they roll around in the bath and shake it off!!

Fugde is very tame and snuggles up to me and falls asleep. Oh i love them.

Very cute when they wash each other/groom. Awake at 2pm so sleepy eating food or going for a wee Smile

How did you get fudge to be so happy to snuggle to the point he falls asleep?! I would love that! Mine could both chew for England!! Makes me smile when they occasionally get a bit ticked off with each other n squabble (bizarre noise I still can't help but laugh at)!

Hes very easy going! I built up it up by strokes in the cage then he came on my hand, i always let him sniff me so he knew it was me. I gave him a treat when he came on my hand then built it up. He sits on my lap and i stroke him. When you give fred strokes, give him your finger after he will nibble on it, its there way of cleaning you back. Hes 2 now so it look at least few months. Now i put my hand in he runs to me jumps on with no treat! It worked for me, it takes time. Fred i bet would love a snuggle!! In the winter i wrap him in my dressing gown and he keeps me more warm than i keep himSmile

Lol, they have a little fight, if i give on a treat and the other once that one is finshed they run over and try take theres. Very naughty ones i have.

We had coco since she was born but she isnt tame. Shes very naughty and always up to no good!!

Am at the great stage n snuggling on lap with Fred. He'll come out of cage for treat then scuttle back in!
Cyril is quite stubborn and will only venture for a treat if put right in front of him. I havent the heart to not let him have it!

Run and re-treat Smile keep taking fred out he seems happy to have a snuggle. He will snooze of one day and its very cute. He keeps my lap warm(he even sits on my bump) its very sweet.

Cyril sounds a character! Call him and see if run up for a treat, i shake a pot and they all come running with there nose poking out the cage!

Are they in your living room or have another room? We have them in the living room and have a lot of contact. Maybe thats why they are abit shy?

They have pride of place and lots of company in our living room alongside my ds s guinea pig Bernie. Our house is a bit of a zoo, I'm such a sucker for animals. My dd has rabbit (Lucy) and two border collies (Wendy & Tilly) who are mum and daughter. When buying Tilly as a pup the breeder asked if we would take mum Wendy as she had had 2 litters and was no longer needed for breeding: of course I said yes. And then there's our new addition due in 3weeks; a ragdoll kitten called Sapphire!

Oh my!!! You have loads of animals. You can go wrong with any pet they are so loving! Do your dogs get along with your chins?

Me and my ex had a jack russell and run up to them to see what they where. My chins didn't like it, i dont no what they are going to think of a newborn baby crying. Run up to the bars and see what is it(both ears poked up too) Smile

Chins just ignore other pets (they think themselves far more important) lol! I've always had a love for animals since being small. My dd is very similar and insists she wants to be a vet when she grows up. Ds adores animals too but would rather be a pirate?!
Do you have other pets?

LOL i think they are stuck up animals, sometimes they turn down a treat, they look at it and there face seems. What is this your giving me!? A man came over once to fix the gas and asked 'what are have you got in there, koala's'

I just looked at him and burst out laughing.

No apart from my chins, i have longed for a scottish terrier or Shar pei(a wrinkle dog)

I did an animal course, i learned about cows, pigs, sheep. Then other animals like corn snakes(i hate snakes) leopard print gekos, turtles etc. It was wonderful experience i regret leaving.

I loved going to the farm and milking the lambs, the piglets where little sh*ts lol.

My dd loves feeding lambs (she did it a couple of times at a farm) and regularly goes on pony days as well as weekly riding lessons but I draw the line at a pony (yet)!!
My son and I went on a days falconry experience (grouping discount website offer) which was amazing!
I've always said that if I won the lottery I'd buy a small farm and have as many animals as I could fit in!
Did you watch the Paul ogrady programme from battersea dogs home on itv; had a (embarrassing) little sob!!

I think your DC would love my old college.

I love animals more than humans sometimesGrin.

My old college was frosty in the winter and had the farm smell which i loved!!

No i didn't watch thatSad.

I did some free work for a year at the donkey santury where i live, the abuse and what they went through made me want to commit murder. Its a nice feeling to do something for free and know someone is getting helped.

I cant wait until my son is born and i will take him up!

There are loads of activies like that, i live in dorset so i have monkey world, sea life, zoo's. If you ever came to dorset i would go monkey world is amazing!!
