Please help me, my hair is awful [blush]

It turns greasy really quickly, its been growing for ages now so my fringe is past my nose

I just sweep it to the side like a greasy mop.

No shampoo/conditioner I've tried seems to help, but I just buy what evers on offer so don't ever try anything 'good'

I'm only 25 and I don't look like 'me' iykwim

I look in the mirror and see a stranger!

My hair used to be my signiture, I was a bit punky and had it bright pink, bright red, blue (not at the same time!) i had the bottom half shaved off and in piggy tais on top.

I don't want anything that extreme now ofcourse!!

But I just feel I need to do something!

But Im 2 stone heavier and lost my confidence.

My hair became really greasy all of a sudden and I reckoned it was a build up of the products in my shampoo. So, I bought a clarifying shampoo and had clean, like squeaky clean, hair after that. Might be worth giving it a go, just to check it is def greasy hair you have and not just a build up of product. T'is possibly a quick fix while you work out what to do re the style

i used one of my kids shampoos in an emergency recently, it was a nit repelant tee-tree shampoo and it really helped keep it dry for longer, but the smell of the shampoo was awful1

use cute hair grips to hold your fringe to the side.

use a gentle shampoo so you are not stripping all the oil off your scalp which will make it oilier and condition from half way down the length of it

make sure you rinse really well and finish with a blast of coolish water

get a good hair cut, and have some flashes of bright colour in it

i used Patene clarifying shampoo, not too expensive, doesn't smell of much and hasn't made my hair dry, just back to what it used to be. One wash with it stripped all the product out. Worth a try.

Would also suggest experimenting with ways of tieing it up or back from your face so you won't fiddle with it, will make your hair greasier if you play too much with it.

I always have it up, thats the main problem, i just have a pony tail and a long fringe, not a good look!

I hardly do my make up any more either.

My youngest is almost 1.5 now so I've no excuses, I need to get my arse into gear and sort myself out.

Try baby shampoo, also a tiny amount of talc into your palm and then massage into scalp and brush out. Works wonders on soaking up the grease if your on the go and don't have time to wash your hair.
Quite honestly cheaper shampoos do just the same as expensive ones, don't be ripped off.
As for styles, totally up to you. Even getting the ends trimmed off with make you feel miles better, cute hair grips are a good idea too.

Your hair sounds similar to mine. I go through phases of growing my hair, then realising that it's become a lank mess and getting a shorter new style. Are you set on having long hair? If not, I'd recommend getting a completely new cut and style.

Thing is,

I've always wanted my hair a certain way, well for the last few years and I met a new friend and she has exactly the hair I want, so now I can't get it done because I'll look super stalkerish!!

Its a very striking style so not like I could pass it off as just being similar.

I can heartily recommend Batiste dry shampoo, similar to Stephy's suggestion of using talc but it is in a spray can. Brilliant for mopping up oily roots between washes. Tis a white powder but i believe they have brought out a brown version for brunettes.
