Im sending back the tea dress which looks like a sack and the knitted dress which just isnt me. With the credit I would like a dress for a christening, Im a 14 and top heavy. I was thinking of this www.boden.co.uk/en-GB/Womens-Dresses/Knee-Length-Dresses/WH183/Womens-Pretty-Cotton-Dress.htm l?NavGroupID=4 sorry I dont know how to do a proper link!! do you think its too frumpy?

here

It's only putting brackets around the link you've already put in the post ya know??

Anyway yes I think the dress is frumpsville. Also the band under the bust looks far too high up to be flattering to big boobs.

think the dress is beautiful but maybe the neck line would not be great with big boobs, try something with a V neck

Hi Kittya! I have this dress from the winter catalogue, and it is super flattering! I am a 34H ,hourglass figure,size14.I had my eye on that very dress in the summer catalogue, but went for this instead.

It is much more flattering on than it looks.I have the cropped cardigan in pink to go with it,and a FAB pair of Jimmy Choo wedges.

You can always return if you don't like.I've tried practically everything on from the catalogue.

I've just got this one

Fits like a dream - in fact the first dress from Boden that I've not returned - often find their sizing a bit odd.

Can't wait for the sun to come out now

no- just sent 3 back- the everyday jersey dress, the crinkle linen one and the trimmed linen one.

You see, the word jersey scares me, it shows everything doesnt it. I must admit I did like the patterns on that favourite jersey dress, I love it how he describes it as a dress to pull on when you are taking the kids to school and heres me looking for a dress for a christening!!! I cant do halternecks Im afraid, bingo wings. Purple was it this linen dress? [http://www.boden.co.uk/en-GB/Womens-Dresses/Above-Knee-Dresses/WH190/Womens-Pleated-Linen-Dress.htm l?NavGroupID=4] I liked the look of that one. Last year I bought two linen dresses from them and wore them do death. I bought two long sleeved dresses and Im still wearing them now. Its really gone down hill. They skirts are all unflatteringly swishy. This means I will have to venture into town now!

yes it was.
Neck a bit high, also a bit shapeless. It was okay but not very flattering overall. It's something I might re-order if 50% off in sale!

oh and it creased like MAD just putting on/taking off- def. no good for christening.
Have you looked at KEW?
www.kew-online.com

The pink floral shift is nice and "dressy", with a cardi.

I'm a UK 16 and top heavy, and I've now tried on a bunch of Boden dresses. (I have an anniversary party I need a dress for.) I bought and kept the crinkle jersey dress, which fits nicely, but it's too casual for the party. I almost kept the Amalfi dress, which really looked fab on, but the bust just didn't quite work. But it's a really flattering fit and it was so close. Right now, I have the summer colourblock dress and the pebblespot sundress here. The pebblespot runs small or the Amalfi runs big, as I'm busting out of the 16 much more than I was in the Amalfi. But it's a similar flattering fit, so I'm going to try one size up and see if that works. The colourblock dress is also quite flattering--simple, but flattering. Probably wouldn't work well if you're a pear on the bottom, but does work with a large chest if you're slimmer on the bottom. Unfortunately, the double darts (which are a good idea in principal) kind of pucker at the boob, and I can't decide if I can get around that or not with a different bra or some creative pressing. I've been trying to avoid going to the store (the best store for dresses is a bit of a drive from where I am), but I might have to.

I have the colour block dress from last year's catalogue in grey/black and it's very nice.

deoxdiva - which colour did you get? I've been watching that dress for a bit!

i bought the lino print dress last winter, in a 14. I am a 5ft 10 with 36FF bust, and it was gaping at the front and waaay to long for me. Bit reluctant to try anything else.

I like the look of the Amalfi dress but bust cups are always a no on me. Either this, the band below the bust, or the dress being too short (hello, Monsoon Fusion) rules out so many pretty things.

Yes I have the same one as whoopsadaisy in multicoloured flowers and I really like it.

Not worn it yet actually but for smart summer days (I have none atm as not working) it will be great!

NB I had it in regular length (I am 5ft 6) but changed for long as it was well above my knees (a lot more than pic), which I don't like with bare legs.

I am big up top btw (32G) and a size 12(ish). I have a big tummy and the dress still looks nice. Even DH was impressed.

I bought the purple cashmere cardi to go with mine (it was £££ but I had some vouchers!) and I love that even more and have worn it a lot.

Cornsilk - I've got the Green Leaf print one. It obviously is a little pricey but had an offer for 15% off and free delivery, plus if you go through Quidco you also get about 10% cashback! That's my justification anyway

Thanks I might try the jersey dress in a Long version. I fear it will be another one I shall be sending back though. I was fooled by the rave reviews for the tea dress!! I love their cashmere cardies with a discount though. I must admit I have afew now! Kew does have some lovely things in, my local store isnt very good at sizes though so I may have to order online. Shame they dont do Boden-like discounts!
