Being stylish in the heat - what things should I be looking for?

We go on holiday in May to Thailand and we will be visiting temples etc but also spend alot of time lazing on beach (well, as much lazing as possible with a 2 and 3 year old)

I am going to buy a few things for the holiday each month.

What kind of things should I be looking for? I origianally thought a few strappy dresses from the likes on french connection and the usual other suspects. But I would end up with strap marks wouldn;t I? And the weekend after we get back I am attending a black tie ceremony so strap marks are not ideal!

Any suggestions for a capsule holiday wardrobe greatly appreciated

I'm just back from Lanzarote, wore this to death-you can tie the straps as a halter, or knot them at the front to make it strapless, which I preferred.

I love that pcplum but I am not a great fan of going braless (have big boobs) Does the back come up quite high?

Oh good Lord, I would NEVER go bra-less!

I wore it either with my biki, or a strapless bra, and it covered them both no problem.

My sister went to vietnam and said that they were v conservative about bare shoulders (I think). Might be worth checking local dress customs iyswim before you get lots of strappy things with no cover ups

pcplum that is great news - I will definately get one of those.

mrsflux yes you are correct about the shoulder thing which is why I have been looking for modest dresses too, though not really found anything. Although, as mrsbadger suggests kaftans and the like should cover up nicely when not on the beach.
