Hair products for fine hair

Want to give my hair a bit of volume, in a messy (hate the phrase 'bed-head'!) kind of way. I am so low-maintenance that I don't own a hair dryer so needs to be something I can just scrunch in and leave alone. Last time I bought such an item was about 20 years ago and I feel things may have moved on! The shelves of stuff at Boots leave me confused and intimidated and I need a friendly guide...

I like the Charles Worthington Dream Hair hairspray, I just tip my head upside down and spray a bit, I don't blow dry either as my hair is really straight anyway.
