Got lucky last week finding a pair of boots in their sale in my size.
Got to checkout, and paid.
Later that afternoon I checked that I did in fact get the boots and were told that they were being despatched that day.

Next day I hadn't recieved the email so phoned and asked about the order. They weren't sure why it hadnt gone, but it would be sent the following day

By Friday still nothing so I called again to be told that they had been despatched, and I could expect them by Wednesday.
By 4.30 I still had not had the despatch email, so I called and asked for the tracking number.

There was a pause, then they finally admitted that they couldn't find any more of the boots.

I was fucking furious.
They said it took an hour for the website to update and that's why I had "appeared" to be successful with my order.

So why had it taken them 72 hours to realise that there wasnt actually any boots?

They tried to fob me off with excuses, saying that they had recently moved premises and had been very busy. Not acceptable.

I asked when they were going to tell me that the Boots were non-existent, and they said "In a letter" (oh very fucking useful)

To add to the general annoyance, they still haven't refunded the money they charged to my card, saying that they havent actually taken the money, but that it is just in a "pre-authorisation" stage.

They are truly shite. They also took two weeks to issue a refund after I returned some items which were pretty fucking shocking in quality that they werent worth the sale price, never mind full price.

Yes, I am pissed off that I didn't get my Boots. But if they had told me first off that the boots were nowhere to be found and not LIED time after time, I would have been disappointed but that's all.

Fucking appalling from a company I'd have expected better from, given the prices they charge. Obviously hanging on to money that isn't theirs is more important that decent customer service.

NEVER AGAIN.

I bought a dress from them recently and after 3 washes it looks like a bobbly old dish rag! I have a similar dress from sainsburys which still looks fab after a year and cost £18 instead of the £70+ the toast one cost!
Very on your behalf, nothing worse than crappy customer service.

Thanks for the warning - will note and never buy. Always looked v.overpriced anyway.

i suggest they spend less time making films about grumpy skinny women stomping about derelict houses and work on their customer service.

style over substance imo

Why did they move premises during a sale period, though?! It's asking for trouble.

The thing I ordered in November came very fast, but during the sale period they seem to have been all over the place.

The connection between the call centre and the warehouse doesn't seem very good - when I rang to find out the courier number for something that hadn't arrived yet (it has now) the woman had to call me back. If the system was a well-automated one then they should be able to call up those details immediately, surely? I can see that if you get someone who doesn't investigate the order status properly but just reads the (apparent) details off the screen, it's going to create false impressions.

and a man was supposed to call me back about the tracking number for another order but didn't. Both times they were very nice, but the system seems to have been up the creek.

I can see they get stretched at sale times. But they need to make it much clearer that it's a wait-and-see exercise and basically you don't know if you've got it until it turns up. And give more priority to issuing refunds quickly.

oh dear madameovary I can quite understand why you are so fucked off. I think they do seem to get themselves into a fluster at sale times. It's such a shame they let you down afterwards - losing your refund and everything.

they're normally not bad at refunding - I sent back the boots and belt and said the belt was rubbish (all floppy - wouldn't lie flat) - and they refunded quite quickly, including my original postage, with an apology for the quality

I also bought slippers and they totally cocked it up - sending me the wrong kind first, then failing to send the right kind, but after I called they sent the right pair immediately.

I've only ever spoken to one VERY unhelpful CS member - the others all seem lovely. I hope it's all sorted out for you soon xx

Boden would never do that, to give them credit.

Monday morning and the money has STILL not been refunded to my card! Grrrrr.
Its not like its impossible to do. Additions refunded a discount inside 48 hours.
Not that any of them were rude, faustina, but they were just ineffectual and glaikit and basically lied. It's so disappointing and has put me off ever ordering from there again.
Never heard of Mint Velvet, pistachio, but...ditto!
