matalan or primark for cheap ones, white stuff if you can pay more.

I would ALWAYS wear a thin cardi over a tank top (I don't mean actually over it , but you KWIM)

I fear tank tops make one look thick waisted

My favourite came from Asda a couple of years ago. Makes me feel preepy [hollow laugh]

bought 2 really lovely lambswool ones from Joules (my first purchase from them) and had so much wear out of them this season it has amazed me! one is brown fairisle, the other pink and white. been so useful over tshirts and polos when freezing, with denim skirt thermal tights and fly mols.

then a few weeks ago i picked up a plain grey thinner one in Matalan for pence, already worn it a few times for work over a shirt and pencil skirt.

i had no idea until this season how useful tank tops are and they can look either preppy or funky or geeky depending how you wear them, i am really loving them and reckon will get loads of wear out of them this spring too.

i should have just said Matalan shouldn't i?

Gene no, the more info the better, am v nosy!

I am thick waisted so no worries there, a cardigan won't make me suddenly hourglass

Thanks for the info, will check out matalan as there is one 10 mins away and nearest white stuff is in town centre so would have to faff around parking

Joules and also Toast had one in sale, but has gone...think there is one on ebay. That was nice...beige with cream snowflakes or soemthing.

I don't know, I'm not keen on them really on us gals.

Ds2 has one and he looks very strange but quite sweet in it.

I've got a few this year, grey Matalan one and a black Uniqlo one.
Would like some brighter colours, particularly red but can't find them anywhere

I have pink wool one form T M Lewin and some from Laura Ashley in the sale. M&S do some nice ones too.

I wear them all the time over shirts esp a white one as it adds real colour and warmth.

Ooh good thread. I can't find one long enough. White Stuff ones definitely too short for me. Does anyone know of any that might actually cover my midriff?

I have a patterned one I have never worn- it's on the charity shop pile at the moment.
Perhaps I will try it on again.

MmaG- Mine is black with a sort of lime green pattern It is nice, but I think it looks wrong over my large bosoms. I'm trying to make it look better,,,,butI feel all wrong, And my mantra is if it doesn't make me feel lovely - it goes.
