Shoes/tights: a few questions.

I'm going through a skirt phase.

I have some patent, grey shoes. Can I wear with grey tights or should they contrast?

What are the best shades to mix with grey overall?

Would you wear tights with peep-toe shoes?

TIA.

whether you can wear tights with a peep toe depends entirely on the precise circumference of the peep hole and whether or not you can discern the seam or the extra thick bit at the toe end of the tights or not.

opaques might just be ok with a tiny peep hole, but dark tan or nude tights where you can see the reinforced toe would be a definite no-no.

If you can see more than 3 toes through the hole, then no tights at all, no way!!

and for me the tights should be at least a slight contrast, and a lighter tone than the shoe. But not yellow and grey under any circumstances other than in some horrible eighties revival nightmare

TBH I didn't realise I was so particular about this, but you did ask!!

Purple tights might look alright with your grey shoes, M and S, have got some slate coloured 100 denier which are really nice, in fact they have got a good selection at the mo.

Personally I prefer them to match, but I am short and that makes you look taller. It does look funky when they contrast.

Agree with Lauree who appears to be a real expert on the peep toe thing. You can get entirely seam free tights, and you can also get toeless ones - so that could sort it out. Other thing is (dare I say it) leggings... A bit 80s, but if not going for wacky colour scheme/style, then you might carry it off. Just don't get into leg warmers or anything silly like that!
