Talk to me about lip gloss

I read a thread on here the other day , and someone said you should always wear mascara and lip gloss as it improves you no end. It was also said that lipstick made you look old. I have been pondering this, and have decided they were right. So, what lipgloss? Where from? Coloured gloss presumably, so what colour?

I have pale skin, red hair, wear greeny/teal framed glasses.

Thanks.

I've just looked at the peach mother pucker, how peachy is it really? And does it make your lips feel funny?

I have recently brought these from the No7 range and I really like them because they are not sticky like alot of lip glosses

in marshmellow it gives lips a dewey pout

this one also tastes yummy

failing that I always have a tin of this to hand. It give moisture with a hint of colour - can also be used to brighten up your cheeks!

Lipgloss is so last year .

Well I did read that in vogue this month - apparently its gone too porn star in its connotations now. Lipsticks are much creamier now and ranges like dior do ones that are a sort of cross between lipstick and gloss.

I wear chanel silhouette lipstick on top of a lip balm - does not make me look old and lasts for more than 2 minutes.

The problem I find with lipgloss is that you need to constantly re-apply and your hair gets stuck in it.

I like tinted lip balms better.

I don't want tingly lips, so that's out!!

The first link sweetheart did might be worth a look, but I will definately buy a rosy vaseline to try. If I don't like it, DD can use it.

Thanks all, who'd have thought lipgloss was so tricky!!

The Vaseline Rosy one is lovey.

I'm a fan of Juicy Tubes though, it stays on much better than cheap lip gloss and usually has a bit of a sparkle to it.

Do you get a definate touch of colour with a juicy tube? I need a bit of colour or I look like a corpse.

Yes you do, you need the ones that look like they might even be a bit too colourful to get a decent colour otherwise they can be just sparkly with a hint of colour. I find they make my lips look fuller then normal lipglosses too.

I like Clinique's Brandy Twist for a sheer light bronzey colour.

I've got a Bobbi Brown lip-tint-glossy thing, can't remember what it's called, but it's like a gloss with more colour and no stickiness. I have Blackberry which looks black but goes on purply.

Will never get rid of my lipsticks though!

Depends how much you want to spend!

I love Lancome Juicy Tubes, and Dior Kiss.

Dior Kiss are especially good, they stay on for ages, and don't just rub off when you take a sip of a drink.

The Dior Kiss ones are £18 is a lot, but they are really subtle shades and last months(honestly). You only need the tiniest bit and it really is very long wearing.

I have been looking at the diorkiss ones, do they make your lips tingly to give them that pumped up look?

I like the look of the chocolate shake one.

Duwop Lip Venom is fabulous - not too much of a burn and lasts for ages. They cost about £16 but I got my last one on Ebay for £8 and it has lasted six months so far.

Mac LipGlass is fantastic and stays on for ages. It is quite gloopy, lovely range of colours too.

Love the Dior glosses. I have a neutral peachy colour at the moment, it's gorgeous.

Also love Vaseline Rosy Lips, a hint of colour and makes them soft too, I often use this as my lip gloss. Can't stand lipstick and have short hair so no problem with gloss sticking to my lips. It's just too pigmented for the look I like.

Oooh, reading the thread I see everyone else has discovered Vaseline Rosy Lips too!

mango, try MAC if you don't like them to pigmented.

The ones I wear are lipgladd and lipdazzle..esp the dazzle ones are devine. A hint of colour BUT the most amazing shine and really finish you off.

Can't you tell I own about a billion of MAC's lipglosses

shhh, I think I've had a Mac Lipglass in the past, in Mango, or similar? It was indeed very lovely. I think I've tried every make of lipgloss going.

I don't rave about Juicy Tubes, they're too shimmery for me. I am hard to please where it comes to my lip glosses!

Yeah it may be mango, they have funny names. I love them, I don't find them very sticky. Esp compared to juicy tunes (which I soooo loved before finding MAC..!) which I find are like glue iykwim...

Go forth and enjoy
