I started at about 15......I used Aapri facial wash and astral moisturiser until I could afford to buy Clarins (get me!!) and I've stuck with Clarins ever since. It must be doing something as I'm always getting comments on my good skin.

It might be a good idea for your DD to start with something like the Simple range which is fairly gentle on the skin.

I had oily skin as a pre-teen and I started a cleansing regime at around 10-11 years. I know because I got my first period at 11-ish and I was already doing the cleanse-tone-moisturise thing by then.

Agree with a gentle product like Simple for starting off.

lol
I remember feeling very grown-up doing it too. Fast forward 3 years and all the other girls were starting to do it and were very excited, and I was "erm, what's new? "

Just a word of warning...don't allow her to use a face mask just yet. I used one at 11ish and broke out in spots straight away. The dermatologist I went to said masks shouldn't really be used till well into adolescence/late teens

I got dd aged 11 a tea-tree facial wash and she lightly moisturises .

I started at about 10, used Boots Traditional Pharmacy Glycerin and Rosewater as a toner and Boots cold cream for a bit of moisture. Still use the rosewater now, it's lovely.

Kept this up until the Clearasil was needed at about age 15!

Please please please don't use something like clearacil; it's incredibly harsh and just dries the skin out.

Maybe start her on a cream cleanser like this or have a look at the Oil Cleansing Method threads.

Sunscreen in the summer. Sun out, screen on.

Serenity - wasn't advocating at all for anyone to use Clearsil btw - just what I turned to when mid-teen acne kicked in! I do stick with my Boots recommendations though
