Any hairdressers out there...????

why is it that when I blow dry my hair it ends up looking dry but when the hairdresser does it it looks shiny?

Recently had my highlights done and after wards my hair loooked lovely and glossy, and didn't need to wash it for 4-5 days compared to the usual every other day. they didn't use much conditioner or products.

Now when I wash it, and use Aussie Deep Conditioner for coloured hair, it looks fluffy but not much shine. It also needs washing more often as it goes flat.

anyone know the secrets of blow drying? I've got medium length straight hair that is fine but plenty of it.
