is it gel? or dandruff? If it's gel, maybe less of it on your roots? fraid I'm not going to be much more help.

Oh, and I LOVE the curly girl method too!

Funny this, CGM sorted out my dandruff/dry scalp problem.
If its gel flaking switch brand, try using less. You can tell if the flakes come off coatings on your hair.

If the flakes are coming off your scalp try scrubbing the scalp as you co-wash. My dandruff has always been dry scalp so with CGM my hair adn scalp became more moisturised and therefore less flaky. Try oiling your scalp and see if that improves the situation. (Part hair and rub oil onto partings.

I wouldnt know what you do if its the other kind of dandruff that you can get with an oily scalp.

thanks girls

not sure what it is - dry scalp I suspect

I googled "curly girl flakes" and found a site that recommends exfoliating the scalp periodically with a tablesppon on brown sugar mixed with two of conditioner - so I will give that a go tomorrow morning

hope it works - is horrible having quite nice hair (though I did ruin the effects of the CGM by dying it last week, is only just starting to come back to its nice curls again) and a dry flakey tight feeling scalp

You've dyed it then? I'm in desperate need of a semi-permanent, but am afraid wreck all the good work! How long did it take to recover?

ILGB I would say it is only starting to come back properly yesterday or today, so that's 8 days later

but at least it seems to be recovering now. For a horrendous day or two I thought it was curtains!!!

btw the brown sugar scrub worked wonders and made my scalp feel lovely - might do it once a week or so...
