So if UGG type boots are uncool what do you wear in the cold/snow?

I used to have a pair of really toasty warm UGG type boots from Just Sheepskin company that I wore in the snow etc as I have long walks to work and school run etc but they seem to have disappeared! I want to buy something to replace them that has a decent sole so I won't end up flat on my face but that are really warm and don't look too bad for work/en route. Any ideas?

Ugg boots aren't uncool.

They are very ugly though, PuppyMonkey.

Had to resist typing Uggly

I have the same problem. Need something smarter than my hiking boots but warmer than fashion boots with a decent sole.

You say ugly, I say charming.

Sorry hadn't seen t'uther thread. This is the first year I've bought Uggs and I love the little bleeders. I've got some of them knitted "cardigan" style ones and they are not ugly at all.

They made my legs look really chunky. Probably because they are chunky but well, I need all the help I can get.

I love those Christiana but they are a tad too pricey for me - also, don't they get ruined in the snow?

Timberlands here, too. Actually, mine are a knock off pair I bought 15 years ago at Camden Market, but they do the job nicely.

These are really warm and practical. Not sure if they are too Uggish or not though.

It's been freezing in London for the past few days and I couldn't have coped without my Uggs. I am yet to be convinced there is any really good alternative.

I have several pairs of hill and mountain boots. Scarpa Manta mountaineering boots are the best! My Brashers are my second best and my Zamberlands are my third favourite!!

If I'm just having an office day I put on two pairs of socks with my Converse and run in!!

I can't quite see myself doing wellies on the train in to work (and they make your feet cold!) ... I think the rocket dog are my favourite so far partly due to the price! I have black leather boots but dont want them to be ruined in the snow and they aren't desperately warm. Ugg type boots have fluffy lining which at least keeps you warm! I am inbetween sizes and find it tricky to buy shoes/boots so buying online seems a tad risky. Think I will plump for these nonetheless ... they are £13.00 cheaper in the dark brown .... would that work ok with black and blue jeans?
