In a few weeks I will be going to works xmas do, formal black tie event.

few important points:

  1. I don't work there anymore - so need to look drop dead gorgous after the shitty way they forced me to resign.
  2. DH still works there so we will be expected to be at each one of these (normally 3 a year)

  1. Size 14, 38 DD boobs, average build, long dark hair, green eyes

I was hoping for a black dress that I could accessorise with teal (fave colour at the moment!) shoes cant be too high but can cope with say 2/ inch heels!

Only dress I have found so far is this one

ebay dress

Help, what do you think?

Budget is about £100 for shoes, dress, accessories

I have this dress which is so muchnicer on than it looks in the pics.

Sizing is quite generous so you could prob get away with a 12.

The ebay dress is lovely too.

Your statistics are mine exactly when I'm not carrying around the baby blubber. That ebay dress is a nono. I think it would cling and look cheap. Let me find a better one...

Thank you!

Forgot to mention though, I have no hips! Pretty straight and no arse either so straight dresses like those above just look like they are hanging of me

You need something like this to make it look like you have hips then

Thanks BB - sadly my size 10 days disappeared 8 years ago when I got pregnant with DS1! LOL

Does it have to be black? Wouldn't you like to wow them in a fabulous colour?

Florence perks up. What about a 1950s number?

Black satin fifties

you want empire julez. how are your legs?

The dress you linked looks fab for boobs and legs but unless you have a very narrow waist it's going to bulge. A structured dress that gives you the shape would be better.

chiffon layer is pretty, new look have some fab shoes at the mo too.

I like this!! Good choice, can't go wrong with black. You can add some sparkly accessories for some added glam. I would get a spray tan and manicure too.

Ohh thanks everyone!

Florence - i could go for colour! DH would be in a Tux so I guess it doesn't matter.

I am quite pale

Legs are blue! lol they are quite boyish but look ok in heels with a tan!

Love the Vivien of Holloway dress but fear tis a bit over the top for the type of do I am going to.

I have sucky in knickers on stand by for baby belly who is 2

Have seen one in M&S ?

what do you think?

This is the type of thing I usually go for...

Nice, very elegant, but will you fit the top?

Still think you should go for colour to contrast with the men in their dark djs.
