Recipe of the week

penguinmum's creamy fish pie: smoky, seasonal fish in a creamy white sauce with grated, rather than mashed, tatties on top - a meal of the highest comfort-food order.

All things Paris

(21 Posts)
Good evening

As I have mentioned on several other threads, my wonderful sister is 30 in less than a month's time and I am present planning.

We (me, mum and dd) are planning a trip to Paris in late January as her big present from us. Our mum lived there for a few years in the 60s and we've all spent a lot fo time there over the years so think it is the perfect place.

But, it'll be the big present on her birthday. We are going to look up concerts, exhibitions etc and make a little package of Paris stuff for her to open with the tickets but want some build up Paris gifts (tacky or otherwise)

I have bought her some divine green leather gloves - not very Paris related but they are tres chic and our mum's getting her (or perhaps making her - see my other thread) a Breton style dress.

Anyone else seen any Paris realted tack/classy stuff that we could get her as a prelude to the big gift?

Thank you very much in advance.

MM wink
Oh they're quite tacky! You see then when you walk around London on tourist stalls. It's just a black or white bag with 'Paris' written repeatedly all over it.

I would use something like this. I have a fairly new guide book that i've jotted all over if it could be of any use I'd gladly mail it so long as you could mail it back?
That's a really nice idea & ties in some of the concert/exhibtion stuff. How would you do it? Moleskine do a Paris book with lots of writing space.... Great idea again. Thank you.

Links The simplest way to insert a link is to enter the link itself, surrounded by [[ and ]]. So if you type [[www.mumsnet.com]], the link will display as http://www.mumsnet.com. If you want your link to display text other than the web address itself, leave a space after the address then add the text before the ]]. So "Look at [[www.mumsnet.com this page]]", would display "Look at this page".
