Actually all I have done is paint my finger nails - bright red! I never wear polish on my fingers so it is quite a big thing for me!!!! What else can I do?

I hardly ever wear polish on my fingers. On the very rare occasion that I do, it either gets taken off again straight away, because its a mess, or it manages to chip within 1/2 hour.
I currently have Barry M navy blue on my toes though, i like it

if you paint them a colour and you think its a bit gaudy, then you should always have on hand a light pink.

instead of finishing your polish with a top clear coat , finish with the pink polish - it tones it down and gives it a nice finish

It's like nail varnish really but it is a much thicker gel and it doesn't chip. I'm not sure how much it costs in the UK but it is really cheap here and every time we get an award from slimming world we get 5 euros off in our local salon

BTW the vamp has gone. I have learnt today that you don't paint your nails while you are looking after a 2 year old and you have work men in the house! D'oh!

Thank I might do them again tonight though as I am going out with the girls tomorrow night

Just me feeling very down and fed up I started a thread in parenting, so that, plus the fact I amy be facing a disciplinary at work and me having a headache today are jsut all making me feel really low!

please dont say " for mumsnetting"

Report

No, not for mumsnetting!
I ahve had 5 days off ill in 7 months. 1 was for DS2 being sick, and I told them at the time it was because he was ill, 2 days for slapped cheek virus (I should ahve had a week off) and 2 days last weekend with migraines, which i am still getting.
Apparently I am not meeting the company's expectations (which, considering that formal warnings are issued after 1st absence, then their standards are very high). I have had 2 formal warnings and an official formal warning, next step is either a written warning or a disciplinary, my team mananger took the latter option. If I am off at all for any reason (including DSes being ill) in the next 6months then I could be dismissed. They are even marked on myfile as "unauthorised absence", not even illness

er can they do this? Are you not entitled to have time off when you or your child is unwell?
