Am slightly fed up with getting older and hairier and was wondering if anyone had gone down the lasar hair removal route.... any good? Advice? Recommendations?
(Perhaps cod would like to organise some competitive permanent hair removal... )

Hi orangina I work in a salon and have had some done i opted for intense pulsed light(less harsh)removal.Aculight is good.Go toa few salons and get some advice as the consultation should be free.

By the way treatment works best on dark hair as the light is attracted to the pigment in the hair so the darker the better.

Hi Bluebell1... thanks for your replies! So, were the results more or less permanent? My hair is dark and my skin quite fair, so I should therefore be quite a good candidate, no?

I had it on my bikini line (Aculight) - and to be honest - 3 yrs on - apart from a few sparse patches it's all grown back !

There are no guarantees unfortunately and they say that if hormonal changes take place hair can regrow !

I wouldn't do it again unless they offered me a money back guarantee.

i agree re. hormone thing. i had electrolysis years ago on granny hairs which disappeared for a while but returned after dd. still think ipl is worth it for lenght of time it seems to work for.

Yes you would be a perfect candidate orangina.I have had my under arms done about five years ago and no re growth. However, nothing is totally permanent.Although the hairs that were treated wont come back as they are killed at the root we all have hairs that lie dormant in our bodies and therefore hormonal changes,a shock to the system etc could cause the growth of these hairs to be triggered.Anymore questions feel free to ask.

Yes is worth as its expensive but then look at how much five years of waxing would have cost.

Thanks for all your responses.... it's the hormones (2 pregnancies in 2 years...) that have kick started the rampant random hairs (), but I think it must be worth a try... thanks for your advice bluebell1!
