That old MN fave...the stylish waterproof jacket. Is this one??

I like it. But it says 'water repellent' . Does that mean its not waterproof?

I'm going to need it for the school run and a trip to paris in Feb. When it will be freezing and probably wet.

I've looked at Millets. Anyone got any of the ones on the website??

Or any other suggestions?

Thanks .

Its ok but I had a friend buy a coat from that site and it looked great but when she got it the coat was of a very poor quality

I like the style, not keen on the colour though. It can be hard to tell colour on some websites though.

I like it. But I have one almost the same already.

But its not waterproof at all. I don't want to buy another similar one that is again not waterproof.

I suppose I could order it and see what its like.

I think 'water repellent' means shower proof not water proof. I also think water-proof and stylish can't be used in the same sentence unfortunately. The only suggestion I have is a black North Face waterproof jacket, but not cheap i'm afraid.

Small Hijak...... F and Z, dd has not had bm for 16 ngihts now I'm feeling a bit sad about it now. Do you remember I said she'd stopped a while ago?

She asked for it last night and I said it had all gone. dh says she's gone this long so thats it.

Oh mel I do remember

what do you think about it? I feel it is more to do with you and dd rather than what dh wants tbh. You probably still have milk, you know, although your supply would be diminished now

I do understand about the sadness. She had all that goodness from you though, don't underestimate what you have given her

I'd love to still feed her. Its deffo still there. I know they are bigger at night. And a bit wet iykwim.

Yesterday she said at bedtime 'story and milkys' and I said 'oh I think its all gone' and she cried Not for long though. And she was distracted and seemed happy with a cup of water

Hmm.

Why does dh think you should stop? (sorry if we went through this before, I have forgotten the detais) There are still plenty of advantages for both of you, would it help to have him read about it?

I think (hope) this may just be a blip. She has done much better than I thought she would have done. She has been clingier though since. And has cuddled my bare tummy lots.

I feel sad about it. Usually only at bedtime. I feel guilty towards her.

BUT I did want a break from feeding before getting pg again. I'm thinking we'll start trying in oct next year and I wanted a break from feeding before I was pg and it all starts again.

Boden did have the rainy day jacket in the creamy/white colour reduced in the sale to £49, probably all gone now though.....

well the guilt might just be a load of bollocks

it comes with the territory of having children and isn't always a sensible thing

I think bf can make your life as a mother easier in general, however I do understand about wanting a break from the sheer physicality of it

could you just feed at bedtime? or do you feel you absolutely want to stop for now

He just thinks its time.

She stopped herself. Well she didn't mention it for a few nights and we just went with it. Then a few nights in she mentioned it and we distracted her and she didn't cry. It was only last night that she cried.

A silly reason is that on wednesday I'm going to see the Spice girls and I have to leave at 5pm so wont be there at bedtime. A first. Ever. So its good that she's not been having the milk for that reason.

It looks stylish-ish on the model. School drop off with deputy dog eyes will not do anything for the look - I think

i have spent most of the day looking for the same thing princessmel.
my criteria are similar
am going to Vienna for 5 days at the beginningn of Feb and its bloody freezing at home too and I am sick and tired of being foundered.
I want
waterproof
and WARM
( not one or the other)
black
and stylish
ido not wish to resemble Mountain Rescue.
I don't mind a ski jacket type thing but don't care for 2 tone look.

I couldn'tsee any thing in Millets that did not look sporty( yuk)
Have also seen the laredoute one , but it doesn't look likeit would withstand the horizontal sleet i am experiencing here ATM.

you know with the child led weaning they advise never offer, never refuse

it sounds like your dd is naturally weaning herself but still needs the occasional reassurance of it being there

it isn't like a smoker giving up in that if they have one cigarette all will be lost!

It would probably be pleasant for you both to let her wean gradually and at her own pace, but you need to be happy with this - if you need to stop, then stop

it hasn't been what you'd call traumatic or forceful for her, has it?
