Does ANYBODY else go to their local college for Beauty treatments.

I have a normal College in town which I use for all my hair and beauty treatments. I usually pay less than £30 to have 4 colours and a cut and blow dry to my hair, and less than £20 for full facial, legwax, eyebrow shape and pedicure. (A whole afternoon, bliss). But everytime I suggest this route to other Mums there is usually choruses of no way.
Why?
I have never had a hair style go wrong (once they didn't take enough off, but I returned the next day and they corrected it for free), or had a bad reaction to colours. (I had fun last time as I have had, two tones of blonde, pillar box red, tangerine orange and purple put in.)
So what is so bad about being done by the people who are juniors at the salon down the road and are having their day release to get their piece of paper?

My local college is good, very cheap too. But I don't go that often these days as they take ages to do stuff. A simple hair trim takes about 90 minutes and I don't have the time to spare. Their leg waxes are sometimes good and sometimes awful. I'm back at regular salons for haircuts and leg waxes, but am happy to go to the college for massages, indian head massage and reflexology , can't really go wrong with them.

Im having a girly day next week with my DD and a friend of hers, so its going to be a whole day. So Beauty in the morning, so we don't get oils etc on new hair do's. We are going on the day that the teaching restaurant is open , so will have an amazing lunch as well. Then Hair in the afternoon. Bliss no men, apart from the hairdressing lads who I love.
