I am looking into buying some boots and have found this company "duo" as I have trouble finding boots to fit my thunder calves. Has anyone used them before and if so what was your experience. Thanks

lol - I added this thread to my watch list a looooong time ago, and was looking at it only yesterday with a view to buying some, as they were recommended by so many people.

I haven't though, because it seems that they only do one width fitting for the foot part, and my feet are very wide too. Am going to call them though to see if they have any styles that come up wider.

yes, have two pairs. expensive but so worth it. I have what I like to call "muscular" calves and these are the only boots I have ever found that fit.

I've got rugby players calves and own 2 pairs and would have hundreds if I could afford them!

they are marvellous - good quality, great choice of designs, excellent customer service... no, I don't work for them!

I think that means they are great, Well hubby is buying and £100 ipod so on that basis think I will be treating myself to a pair of boots that actually fit. I'm normally a size 6.5 should I go upto a size 7?

I have 2 pairs, fabulous for my chunky muscular calves, SIL uses them too, for the opposite reason

Or buy from Evans - that's what I do
(Have huge calves but am a size 12 so get daggers when I go in but hey ho!)

Even Evans boots rarely fit my calves. Have just had a delivery of some 'extra calf width' ones from Simply Be that don't fit either . Will ring Duo re foot width if U can manage to get a minute's peace from dd this afternoon.

I just rang their fitting room in london and they carry 1 of each size in stock so you can try them on before you order it. Think I will be popping down on thursday (dh is off so can look after dd)

I agree, duo are fab. I have three pairs. I have skinny calves (but, wierdly, fat thighs) and most boots look like wellies. Great customer service, hard wearing (lived in my brown flats for three winters and still going strong) and good choices. Love them.

Chipo - I have been past the fitting room a couple of times, but only at the weekend and it was really busy. Might be worth ringing to see if there's a best time of day to go. Prob morning.

I have a pair of Duo boots, which were fitted by Duo at one of their "road shows". They fit very well - I can't get normal boots to zip up over my muscle bound calves. A colleague at work has had less luck with them - her boots came apart in a short time and she had to argue to get them repaired by them (bought them late in season so hardly used them until the next autumn when they immediately came apart). When she ordered a new pair for Christmas the order was taken and the wrong width fitting sent out - when she returned them she was told that the particular boots weren't made in her width. So a qualified Yes!

Right, I've rung them, and have ordered the Lisbon, which they reckon is the best option for wide feet, and the Malmo, which they also think is quite wide. The Bern was also a contender re width, but not in stock in my size/colour combo (was going to order all 3 and choose once I had them to try!). The others that I liked were all standard widths .

Mine arrived today. The Lisbon ones were too narrow in both the foot and ankle (but could have lived with ankle if foot had been wider), so are going back. The malmo ones are comfortable though, and much nicer than they look on the website, so I'm getting them to send me some in black as well to replace the Lisbon's that I'm sending back.

Such a shame that they don't do foot width ones as well as calf width, but one style is better than none I guess!

I went to the london fitting room and thank god I did. The ones I liked on the website didn't fit or looked horrible, but managed to find a pair I liked and where cheaper than I was expecting too. "here"
